                                             the  first  time  he’s  ever  spoken  to  her  . . .    and  this  is  what  she  wants  to  hear  ?    he  supposed  that  he  should’ve  expected  that  coming  from  vivi  .    the  dog  tilts  his  head  ,    frowning  slightly  .    perhaps  a  few  hundred  years  ago  he  would’ve  shouted  out  the  word  without  hesitation  ,    but  he  was  a  good  boy  now  .

mystery never talked to the gang until a month or so after lewis’s death. he didn’t chose to reveal that ability to them, he just messed up his whole silent thing on accident. but it’s been a huge relief to actually speak his mind.

mystery has never revealed his identity to the gang. i imagine he disguised himself as a dog originally a while back, and just happened to stumble upon vivi’s house. due to his nature, he was probably just gonna hop in there and steal some food n’ shit and ollie outtie. though, he actually kinda got attached to vivi and eventually became the mascot of their little group. he probs got his name bc of how randomly he appeared in their lives.

he doesn’t plan to reveal his true form to them, for multiple reasons. one because he’s hiding from shiromori, two, cuz he feels like they may fear him/leave him if they found out.

arthur is the only one who’s actually seen his kitsune form, since he took it to protect him from that infection and.. y’know. tear off his arm. tho i feel as of arthur might be unsure of what happened, bc SO much happened in that one moment. tho it’s obvious arthur kinda fears mystery after that. he feels a bit guilty about it.

i also believe mystery hung around vivi originally cuz she looked like/is probably an ancestor of mushi (the warrior that fought shiromori back in the day) and feels like that alone might throw shiromori off his trail/keep her away in general.

i love the idea that mystery always regularly talked to the gang, but i also like the idea that he doesn’t talk to conceal his identity and one day (probs post lewis incident) he just fucks up-- and the whole gang screams.
