The Last Few Hours

I was left on my own, abandoned by those who profess to love me

Scars and wounds, but you will never see me bleed

So, I laid my name to rest, lest it take on shame

The devil dragged me down and I went willingly

All around I see pitch black, pale blue

And so we go to the land of gods and monsters

I gaze now up to the earth, observing every faulted line

I see the mourners, they leave flowers and tears

Funny how they grieve now when in life I was alone

Am I worth more now that I’m gone

Let those fools be loud, let them soothe themselves
