losing-litha:
Litha felt herself smile as they continued to dance; she hadn’t felt this calm in a long time. She drew a sharp breath as she felt him move closer again, seemingly wanting to remain close–even after her admission. She stifled a laugh, pulling back to see Talon and reaching up to gently touch his cheek. “Alcohol is always a good reason,” she maintained eye contact for a moment before leaning back in, her cheek returning to his.
The fire in her hadn’t disappeared; she still felt the rage inside her, but it was tamed for the time being. She hadn’t expected the night to take such an odd turn. “Merry Christmas, Talon,” She whispered, resting her free hand against his chest.
Talon gently leaned into her hand as it softly caressed his cheek, his eyes clear as they looked deep into hers. Her smile mimicked the one he was sure to have as both of their troubled faces seemed at peace in this moment. “A great reason.” He corrected in a teasing tone before letting his eyes fall closed once more as she grew closer; any distance between them unwanted from his end-- perhaps from her end as well.
The smile on his lips grew a tad wider before he returned the holiday greeting. “Merry Christmas, Litha.” The soft words breathed into her ear as he barely squeezed the hand in his. His charming facade was usually nothing more than something he used to mask the anger within him, the attention of woman prolonging his inevitable outburst. But this, this seemed to be more than just that; this felt right.
