The Imperial made a mental note of the drink he wanted before replying. “My name is Tamare. I’m a traveling barmaid, but I’m also studying on my own when I find the time.” She paused for a moment to study his face. There weren’t many Thalmor that she had met over the years, but he was definitely unfamiliar. And also stunningly handsome.

“I haven’t seen you around here before. Might I ask who you are?”

“My name is Estormo”, he bowed his head to her, an answer dor an answer, “I’m with the Thalmor residing here here in Skyrim. I do too travel around the province.” His eyes examined her features curiosly, “probably thus why we haven’t met yet.”

“Well, it’s a pleasure to meet you, Estormo. Let me fetch you that drink.” With a smile, she went back to the bar to pour a bottle of spiced wine into a glass, returning to his table and setting it and the bottle down. “Here you are. Is there anything else I can get you?”

Feeling a set of eyes on her caused her head to glance up from her book. Those eyes belonged to an unfamiliar Altmer, one of the Thalmor by the looks of his robes. Tamare slipped a bookmark between the open pages and closed the book for the time being, setting it aside before making her way over to the mer’s table. “Good afternoon, sir. What can I get for you?”

A quiet sigh left the mer’s lips; he was tired of the common people and actually would’ve been delighted if something exciting happened for a change. But he knew these wouldn’t be the days. His eyes followed the girl’s movements but said nothing until she asked him what he wanted. Was she a tavern girl? But she looked more… educated.

“I’d like to have a bottle of spiced wine, please.“ Whoa. Even if he had a grumpy day, this certain girl could make him talk politely. His amber eyes found hers. “I’m sorry to ask, but I’m curious… who are you?”

How stupid they thought he was? As it turned out someone wanted to murder the Emperor and Elenwen, having no better men to spare, decided to send Estormo in Solitude. The exact words were, observe people, and that he did. The Thalmor didn’t care about the Emperor, nor about his murder; who cared about the Empire and their petty problems. Well, Estormo didn’t. And at least there were two other Altmers there in Solitude who liked him, they worked in the Radiant Raiment and filled him in with the details about anyone. He didn’t need to concentrate at anything, all he did was just… wandering around. It wasn’t a problem for him to arrest an Argonian in the market area early in the morning. That day was particularly boring; the mer found himself tired of this city and its people after a week. Groaning to himself, he walked in the Winking Skeever, he immediately noticed the barmaid he never met before. Sighing, he sat down at one of the tables and stared at her in hopes she’d notice her. He wasn’t in the mood to start a conversation himself.

It had been so long since Tamare had worked in Riften that she almost forgot how beautiful the city was. Since the afternoon was rather quiet at The Bee and Barb, Keerava let her go on a break, the perfect opportunity to take a stroll through the streets.

Stepping outside and breathing in the fresh air, the Imperial smiled and took her time walking around, stopping by Madesi’s stall to peruse his jewelry collection. There was a gorgeous necklace that caught her eye, a silver one with a sapphire dangling in the center. She purchased it and slipped it around her neck, receiving a compliment from the Argonian of how nice it looked on her. Most jewelry did.
