Other people have said this in notes, but the Bulwer-Lytton contest involves writing the most absurd opener you can think of and submitting it to the contest. It's not a judgment like the Razzies or the bad sex in books award or something; it's a game. Diana Murtaugh of Baltimore is to be congratulated for this win.

are the backgrounds real? if so how do you blend them so well with the pokemon? if they arent real, how do you get them to look so good?

The backgrounds are real - taken on my very crappy phone camera! As for how to blend them, it's mostly me testing out lighting and desaturations of colour to make them look like they stand in natural light, followed by using perlin noise to match the grain of the original photo.

Shadow layer - set to darken and then I blur and airbrush harsher edges with an eraser to soften them.

I then put a slight gaussian blur on my painting to match the fuzz that happens because my camera focus is awful.

Then make a perlin noise layer - that I then set to overlay at 27% Which results in this

Most accounting classes at my school are only online so this semester I decided to take an in person Spanish class to get some human interaction.

Anyways on the first day of class a student asked if it’s okay to use Duolingo to study and the professor made an involuntary disgusted face
