I've seen a lot of confusion from my side of the LADS fan base, the western side, about why exactly Valko has been cancelled. After doing some digging, here are the reasons why:
1. The number 0731 appears in one of Valko's trailers. In Chinese culture numbers are very important and representative of specific things, and this particular number is tied to a historical atrocity akin to the holocaust, which obviously upset the CN fan base.
2. The phrase "the wolf entering your house" (and other similar slogans used for Valko) in China alludes to breaking and entering, especially into a woman's home, to harass and assault, which the CN fan base also found (understandably) deplorable.
3. The CN fan base are racist/colorist and said Valko is too dark to be a love interest, claiming that he should be released only onto African servers because they didn't want a black man in their game.
4. The CN fan base felt Valko was too gay to be a love interest since his face could "only be appealing to other men".
5. The CN fan base thought he was ugly and pandered too much to Western audiences in general.
6. The CN fan base allegedly sent death threats and horrific gifts (like animal dung) to LADS development team.
7. The CN fan base makes up 60% of LADS total fans, and they had already started boycotting the game over the last week, which would sink LADS' overall profit in the long run.
8. All fan bases, including the western fan base, felt like it was wrong of LADS to release a new LI when they've hardly updated or added anything (besides event banners and house updates) over the last year.
9. The Chinese government may have been putting pressure on Infold to respond to the growing unrest with threat of withdrawing their support.
All in all, it seems that removing Valko was LADS's desperate attempt to appease everyone, which has backfired on an insane scale.
