Gentle reminder that you can make your own natural toothpaste really easily & cheaply at home with only a few ingredients… :)

Main ingredients would be :: Bentonite clay + coconut oil + a tiny bit of baking soda + tea tree essential oil (or peppermint or spearmint, if you have it). 

Additional extras can be :: Xylitol (for a bit more sweetness & it also balances the pH of our mouth), stevia powder, activated charcoal powder (it whitens the teeth!), Aloe Vera gel, Calcium powder & so on…

Remember that citrus essentials oils are not a good idea as they are acidic & would make your teeth too sensitive. ~ Be mindful about the quantity of baking soda that you use as I personally find it very abrasive to my teeth. ~ Make sure that the clay you buy is fine powder. ~ Remember that when buying all of these ingredients together may seem expensive but they will last so much longer & you can make such an enormous quantity of toothpaste (& many other self-care natural products!) with it. Just see it as an investment in your health… :)

Be aware of all the ingredients in conventional toothpastes sold at supermarkets… They are filled with fluoride, artificial gliceryn, artificial colour dyes, sweeteners (like sorbitol, sodium saccharine, etc.), sodium lauryl sulfate (for foaming & lather…) and truly have awful effects in our health that we can not even consciously feel until it manifests in an illness & we don’t even see the connection. Even if we don’t swallow it, our mouths absorb it very quickly & it still lingers even after we rinse… So, this is just a heart reminder to take care of yourself & be conscious of what you use & what you eat & what kind of vision are you supporting (as many conventional toothpastes, if not all of them, test on animals as well…).
