calling it now, metag is defensive of poppy due to being programmed as a guard for meeple who can detect that poppy is connected to cobs which triggers their "protect our leader" instincts, and their character arc is going to involve the contestants realizing that metag being bound by how cobs programmed them is essentially the same as how they were originally bound by the way mephone envisioned them, and that'll tie back into the how most of the cast is somewhat hypocritical when it comes to how they view meeple creations (mephone4, metag, etc) compared to how they view themselves, when in reality they're all victims of the same abusive cycle. all cards on the table. betting it all on this one metaphorical horse. let's bet on this shit. one dolar.

adding to my prediction: metag WAS originally only there to watch over them and report back to the Cobs Estate, but then they fucked up and actually got attached to everyone and enjoy being a part of the community even if it's scuffed as hell and nobody knows what they're doing. they ended up prioritizing their orders in the end, but they felt some amount of guilt over it.

see: them genuinely trying to catch and save fan mere moments after they effectively betrayed the entire group, and then isolating themselves afterwards.
