Today marks 25 years since the release of t.A.T.u.’s album “200 po vstrechnoy”.
It was released on May 21, 2001, and on the same day the video for “Nas Ne Dogonyat” premiered. In its first two months, the album sold 500,000 legal copies, and by the end of 2001 its official sales in Russia had exceeded 2,000,000 copies.
“200 po vstrechnoy” became a major milestone in t.A.T.u.’s story and the record that marked the beginning of the group’s wider international path. Later in 2001, the Russian-language release also came out in Eastern Europe, where it reached leading chart positions.
