âYou better let me join in.â Because she would happily join him in that. Alecto loved a little chaos, and she would not mind joining Tav in destroying anything relating to his father. She knew, thanks to their previous conversations, about the issues relating to their father, and she would happily support them in ridding the world of it. And if it made Tav feel better, then she would approve. She just wanted to see her friend happy, but she had a feeling that would not be happening for a while. She could understand though, sheâd feel the same if she lost Amycus.
âi know youâre not woundedâŠ.â But it didnât mean she didnât want to worry about his loss. She was keenly aware of just how close Tav and Cass had been, and she understood. Her twin was the most important thing in her life, and she couldnât imagine how she would feel if he was no longer here. Part of Alecto wanted to reach out, to comfort Tav. But she resisted the temptation. She knew that they would not like it, and so, she kept some sort of distance. If he wanted physical comfort, she was sure that they would seek it out.Â
Alecto bit her lip, just watching him. She was usually not this speechless, but she didnât want to make any of this situation any worse than it already was. It was a horrendous situation, one she had not expected to happen. And so, Alecto would just go by what Tav was doing. She honestly was not surprised to hear his secret. But she didnât judge him. She would never judge him.
âHe deserved it. For all the terrible shit he put you both through.âÂ
Tav knew that he was likely overwhelming Alecto, it was unusual for her to be so quiet but she didnât seem to have much to say. But for her sparse words and her hesitation, she said exactly what he wanted her to say. And she knew that killing his father wasnât a wholly unhappy thing for him. She knew that he had been planning to eventually do just that, even before Cassius was murdered. Taking a sharp breath through his nose, Tav reached across the table in one fast and graceful movement, taking Alectoâs wrist and guiding the hand that still held their knife to the top of the desk, inviting her to, âbetter start now.â They gave her wrist a squeeze and helped her drive the knife into the wood the first time before letting go and letting her do as she pleased. He spoke as he turned to retrieve a hammer on a shelf across the room, explaining as he went, âhe deserved worse. I had to make it quick, it wasnât painful enough, he didnât truly pay for it, not really.â âAll I can do is succeed despite him.â When they turned back to face Alecto with the hammer in their hand, their teeth were bared and grit and they had such determination in their eyes, in the furrow of their brow. âAAAAAAHHHH!â He screamed his fury as he brought the hammer down onto the desk, breaking a hole in the top of it. One heel came up onto the desk, pushing it away to help them yank the hammer free so they could bring it right back down again. They were done talking, now only feeling the adrenaline of their anger, and they hoped that Alecto had been honest when she said sheâd like to help them destroy it all. Because now there was nothing that could stop him until he was finished doing just that. The whole room around them had to go.
