A Republican just told me that mask mandates is a bigger problem than poverty.

And then they get offended when people call them privileged.

“Latinx” is another form of Colonialism.

I have heard the argument way to many times, people in the US don’t like the term “Latino/a” because is sexist, they prefer a gender neutral term, and that is why they use the term “latinx”. But the reality goes deeper than that.

The reality is that the English language already has a gender neutral term, in fact, it has TWO gender neutral terms that you can use: “Latin” and “Latin American”. You have 2 English terms to use for the Latin american community when you are talking in English. Why don’t use those terms instead?

The important thing to realize here is that the term “latinx” is a term originated in the US, by people from the US, to refer to people from Latin America, changing the Hispanic language because the Hispanic language was offensive to American standards.

People in the US unilaterally determined that a Hispanic word was offensive to the people in Latin America, and therefore it should be changed, without considering how Latin American people felt neither about the term itself, nor about the idea that people who didn’t speak their language were changing it.

Why does Latin America has to change its language to comply to the standards of people from the US?

Why people from the US get to determine how Latin Americans are referred to?

The truth is that the majority of the Latin American people are unaware that they are called by a term they didn’t choose, a term that cuts away a big part of their identity, their identity of being born in the AMERICAS, a term determined by people who don’t even speak Spanish, because those people decided that they knew better, those people decided that they had the right to change a word for more than half of a continent, those people decided that people living in Latin American were too uneducated to understand that their language was not cultured enough, and that they had the holy duty to bring those poor souls out of their savage culture into a more enlightened one.

That is one of the purest form of COLONIALISM!!!!!!

Don’t decide for Latin America. Don’t change the Spanish language to make it acceptable to US standards.

You have your words, we have ours. We have lost enough of our identity at your hands already, please stop tearing our language and our culture apart.

If abortion has to be legal because it is a woman’s decision what to do with her body and neither the government nor the father of the baby should have a say on it, then child support should be optional for men too. At the end, the man’s money comes from his own effort, and neither the government nor the mother of the child should have a say on it. I have heard many times the argument that women shouldn’t have to drop from school to raise kids, and I understand that. But what about when men have to drop out of school to pay child support?? shouldn’t they have the choice too?? after all, feminism is all about equality.

I don’t understand

If (as many feminist say today) all men are intrinsically rapist and it is in their nature, but gender is a social construct and people can choose their genders. What happens when a man decides to be a woman?? Does that person stops being a rapist automatically??

And when a woman decides to be a man?? Does that person becomes an intrinsic rapist??

And what about the people who change their genders constantly? or the ones who are partially one and partially the other? how does that works with the whole spectrum of today’s gender identity?

Are those people partially rapists? part-time rapists? rapists only when they identify themselves as men?

If a man is born with the intrinsic nature of being a rapist, and then chooses to become a woman, is that nature lost? if it can be lost, is because it is not intrinsic, if it is intrinsic and it is not lost, does the person really becomes a woman?? (because obviously only men have it, women don’t)

If the whole nature of being a man is to abuse women and to have power over them (as many women say today), wouldn’t it mean that women choosing to be men do it so they can have power over other women??

What is good about being part of the gender that is at fault of every single thing that is wrong with the world (even natural disasters)??

Please understand that I am not trying to insult people who change genders, I just want to understand how those ideologies come together under the same roof of feminism.

because to me they are completely incompatible.

Please, if you are going to answer, don’t come and tell me how trans-phobic, homophobic, sexist, and all of that I am. Give a real argument, with a real answer that probes that you are an intelligent person.

Actual response from a feminist when I said that men also suffer sexism. It is amazing that she defends feminism as a movement of equality while openly saying that men are the only attackers.
