estrella slipped a bookmark between page 266 and 277 of the text they were reading and then turned to face ludvig. they cocked an eyebrow and looked at the bag. “i actually enjoy black licorice, despite its dangers. ” they reached into the bag, took one out, and popped it into their mouth. “ actually, if someone over the age of forty eats two ounces of black licorice a day for at least two weeks,  they could end up in the hospital with an irregular heart rhythm or arrhythmia. ”

estrella’s eyes lit up. “ oh yes, absolutely ! gosh, it’s been a bit since i’ve done a marathon. i don’t think that i’ve ever marathoned harry potter before, either. sounds like a good time. ”

It was ridiculous how many things Mahalia could actually cayry in her arms. Enjoying her alone time, Mahalia decided to draw some things, with the piece and quiet of the campus’ grounds — which ended with her carrying more things than she could handle back to her dorm. As someone walked by her, bumping into her out of nowhere, almost every thing fell from her arms and she let out a frustrated groan. “Asshole.” The girl spoke, loud enough for the next person to hear but not loud enough for the actual culprit to look back. Letting out a sigh, Lia looked at the person that had been walking by. “Not you. Sorry.”

oh dear. estrella waved the comment away and offered the girl a smile. “ it’s fine, don’t worry about it. here, let me help you. ” they bent down and grabbed a few things for her. “ do you need help carrying these somewhere? you looked like you were struggling there. i’m not doing much now so i can totally help out. ”

estrella had been casually reading about the mechanics of plant photosynthesis ( like they hadn’t already memorized it by heart. they could recite it in their sleep ) when they were not-rudely interrupted by a large flower. es laughed a bit as they trained their gaze up at lex. “ you look like snow white, you know that, right ? also, i’m getting ahead on school work for next year. ”

on the wall in front of them, there were many white sheets of printer paper taped to the surface. the entire wall would have been completely whited-out, if not for the messily scrawled handwriting in different colors that was scattered across the pages. “ ryan, ” the name was spoken with a hint of bitterness, though mostly exasperation. estrella took a moment to turn around and throw the green inked pen at his face. “ shut up. ” before turning back around to the notes on the wall. less than 24 hours before their last final and they were getting restless. “ don’t ‘i’ve done nothing wrong’ me, young man. you stole a car ”
