At this point, the tears that had formed in her eyes were already streaming down her cheeks, a couple of light sniffles followed as well. As Silver pulled her back, Gold took the hint that it was a little too much for him, and quietly stepped back a little. She then crossed her arms and put a hand to her a hand to her mouth, biting it a little as she did so.
“Ah Y-yes, I’m okay, thank you.” she managed a light smile as she replied, anxiously nodding as she did. she then quickly wiped her eyes as another hushed sniffle escaped her nostril. “What about you friend, are you alright?” Gold worryingly glanced over him, seeing if there was any type of injury or anything visibly wrong that she had missed before she had dashed to him. She didn’t see anything alarming right away… at least not physically. He didn’t seem distressed either– OOoh, If anything, he was cool and collected compared to her.
“…You and the professor?” Gold was hoping that Silver had found the professor and the rest of the tiny lab assistants. Though, she had a slight sinking feeling he hadn’t. Even if so… it was much better than being alone.
Friend. A word he had barely used in his life. Still, he’s come to accept that Gold and the Professor were exactly that, friends. It strange, but nice, also nerve wracking. He’s never really had friends before. He’s had people who cared for him, the people at the orphanage; people who would depend on him in the assembly line, those he worked with. But none of those people cared for him more than they absolutely had to in order to get by.
“I’m--” It probably wasn’t a good idea to tell her all he had been through since they were separated. Especially those visions. “I’m okay.” He wasn’t lying, at least. For now, he was fine. For now he had some relief.
At the mention of the professor his shoulders slumped. Easily, she could probably tell that the news wasn’t good. “I--I haven’t found the professor.” He stated with a sigh escaping afterwards. “I was hoping-- hoping he was with you.” follows in a mumble, but Silver tries to make light of it. “But-But I’m sure he’s fine, I mean he’s super smart right? He can -- He’ll be fine until we find him.”
“And I already found one of his bits! That little red one. Buttttt -- it looks like he ran away on me, want to help me find him?” Anything to get their mind off of the missing person in their little trio. He had thought the worst had come to pass when he lost Gold and the Professor. Finding Gold again has given him hope, if only a little.
