The new fields at the 2015 FRC Championship will be Carson, Carver, Hopper, and Tesla.

Rachel Carson

-Carson pretty much started the environmental movement with he book Silent Spring, about our abuse of chemicals and their effects on nature. Here’s her wiki page.

George Washington Carver

-Carver was a botanist who not only invented literally a hundred uses for peanuts, but also helped everyday farmers improve their crop yields and lives. Here’s his wiki page.

Grace Hopper

-Hopper basically invented the concept of a high-level programming language with COBOL. Compilers, the idea of a “bug”, literally all her. Also had fantastic ways of explaining computing concepts. Here’s her wiki page.

Nikola Tesla

-He’s flipping tesla. AC current, electric vehicles, and all that. Crazy awesome dude. Here’s his wiki page.
