Pair: Finn Balor X BayleyÂ
Plot: After a brutal night in London leaves Bayley shaken and vulnerable, she returns home to Orlando searching for something steady to hold onto. Finn steps in without hesitation, offering comfort, quiet support, and the kind of warmth she hasnât felt in a long time. Over the next few days, the two fall back into an easy rhythm that feels just like their earliest days in NXT â soft, familiar, grounding. But when Bayley finally opens up about her doubts and fears, Finn shares something of his own that changes everything, leading them to a moment years in the making.Â
I donât even know how to explain this one except⊠it hit me right in the chest and wouldnât let go. Bayleyâs London heartbreak, Finnâs quiet softness, the way they fall back into that old NXT rhythm â it all came together so naturally I just had to write it. Itâs tender and a little bruised and very them.
Song: âEverywhere, Everythingâ by Noah Kahan â the exact emotional temperature of this fic.
Bayley was finishing up her cooldown stretches in the NXT gym when she heard the door open behind her. She didnât look up at first â new people came through all the time â but the room got quiet in a way that made her glance over her shoulder.
A man stood in the doorway, duffel bag slung over his shoulder, eyes scanning the room like he was taking in every detail. Dark hair, sharp jawline, calm posture â but there was something gentle in the way he held himself.
She recognized him immediately.
âYouâre Finn, right?â Bayley asked, pushing herself up to her feet.
He smiled â small, polite, but warm. âYeah. Just got in today.â
Bayley wiped her hands on her shorts and walked over, offering hers. âIâm Bayley.â
Finn shook her hand, firm but friendly. âI know. Iâve seen your matches.â
Bayley blinked, surprised. âYou have?â
âYouâre one of the reasons people talk about this place the way they do,â Finn said, like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
Bayley felt her cheeks warm. âWell⊠welcome to NXT. Itâs crazy, but itâs good crazy.â
Finn set his bag down, glancing around the gym again. âFeels different. In a good way.â
Bayley nodded. âIt is. Everyone here works hard. Everyone cares. And we look out for each other.â
Finn looked at her â really looked â and Bayley saw the exhaustion behind his eyes. The travel. The pressure. The expectations.
âThatâs good to hear,â he said softly.
Bayley smiled, nudging him lightly with her elbow. âCome on. Iâll show you around. You donât have to figure this place out alone.â
Finn let out a small breath â relief, maybe â and picked up his bag.
And just like that, something settled between them.
The kind of connection that feels like itâs been there forever, even though theyâd only just met.
Bayley spent the afternoon walking Finn through every corner of the Performance Center â the rings, the promo room, the trainersâ office, even the tiny hallway where everyone taped up before shows. Finn followed her with that quiet, attentive energy she already liked.
âYouâll get used to the chaos,â Bayley said, pushing open the door to the main ring. âItâs loud, but itâs a good loud.â
Finn smiled. âI like it already.â
Before she could say anything else, Shawn Michaels stepped out from the office, headset around his neck.
âBayley,â he called, âyouâre up tonight. Sasha. Ten minutes. Go get ready.â
Bayley nodded, then turned to Finn. âIâll see you after?â
âYeah,â Finn said softly. âGood luck.â
Bayley jogged off, leaving Finn alone with Shawn.
Shawn looked him over, arms crossed. âYou ready for tonight?â
Finn straightened. âYes.â
âGood,â Shawn said. âYouâre working Johnny Gargano. Heâs fast, heâs sharp, and heâll push you. Donât let him outpace you.â
Finn nodded, steady. âUnderstood.â
Shawn clapped him on the shoulder. âWelcome to NXT, kid.â
Later that night, Finn stood backstage watching Bayleyâs match with Sasha on the monitor. He didnât expect to be so invested, but Bayleyâs energy was magnetic â the crowd loved her, Sasha pushed her hard, and Bayley fought like she had something to prove.
When she hit the finish, Finn actually smiled.
âSheâs good, isnât she?â someone said behind him.
Finn didnât look away from the screen. âSheâs brilliant.â
Bayley came through the curtain a minute later, flushed and breathless, and Finn was still standing there.
âYou watched?â she asked, surprised.
âOf course,â Finn said. âYou were incredible.â
Bayleyâs cheeks warmed. âThanks. Youâre up next.â
Finn nodded, nerves settling into something calmer. âWill you watch?â
Bayley grinned. âObviously.â
And she did â arms crossed, leaning against the wall, eyes glued to the monitor as Finn stepped into an NXT ring for the first time. Johnny was fast, just like Shawn warned, but Finn kept up. He hit his strikes clean, moved like heâd been there for years, and when he pinned Johnny, Bayley let out a quiet, proud laugh.
Finn walked through the curtain afterward, chest rising and falling, adrenaline still buzzing â and Bayley was right there waiting.
âYou killed it,â she said.
Finn smiled, small but real. âThanks for watching.â
Bayley bumped her shoulder against his. âTold you. We look out for each other here.â
And that was the moment â the exact second â Finn realized he wasnât just joining a roster.
He was finding his people.
And Bayley was the first one.
After their first night wrestling, something just⊠clicked.
Bayley started showing up early to the Performance Center, and Finn somehow always ended up there too â stretching on the mats, taping his wrists, warming up in the ring.
They fell into a rhythm without ever talking about it.
One morning, Bayley was practicing chain wrestling with Sara, and Finn hopped into the ring after, offering to run it again with her.
âYou move fast,â Bayley said, breathless.
Finn smiled. âYou keep up.â
Another afternoon, Finn was working on his strikes, and Bayley stood outside the ropes, giving him feedback.
âYour kicks look great,â she said. âBut your elbow? Youâre holding back.â
Finn raised a brow. âShow me.â
Bayley climbed in and demonstrated, and Finn watched her like he was studying film.
On Thursdays, they always ended up doing cardio together â Bayley on the treadmill, Finn on the one beside her.
âI hate running,â Bayley groaned.
âSame,â Finn said. âBut you make it less miserable.â
Bayley laughed, pushing her hair out of her face.
Some days, they practiced promos in the empty room, sitting crossâlegged on the floor, tossing ideas back and forth.
âYouâre good at this,â Bayley said.
Finn shook his head. âYouâre better.â
âWe can be good together,â she said.
Finn looked at her â really looked â and nodded.
And on Fridays, when training was over and everyone was exhausted, Bayley always tossed Finn a water bottle and said, âSee you tomorrow?â
And Finn always answered, âYeah. Tomorrow.â
It was just two people finding comfort in each other during the hardest, most chaotic part of their careers.
And before either of them realized it, training together wasnât a habit â
They didnât know it then, but those early days in NXT were the start of something theyâd carry with them for years â through callâups, title runs, injuries, chaos, and every version of themselves theyâd become.Â
Monday Night Raw â June 22nd, 2026 â London, England Â
Orlando, Florida â Finnâs House
The match between Bayley and Lyra and Paige and Brie was underway and it was a brutal backâandâforth match but the end was near.
Finn had RAW on his TV, sitting on the edge of his couch, one arm draped over the backrest. He wasnât planning to watch the whole show â just the Bayley match. He always watched her matches.
âCome on, Bayley⊠come on, LyraâŠâ he muttered under his breath.
Paige rolls Lyra up and then Lyra rolls Paige up â both kick out.
Finn leaned forward, elbows on his knees.
âGood counters⊠stay focused,â he whispered, like they could hear him.
Lyra kicks Paige and then puts her in position for the fishermanâs buster â she hits it, but she doesnât get the cover, and Paige turns it into the Rampage and they retain the tag titles.
âAh, thatâs rough⊠they had it.â
âYou canât help but feel bad for Lyra and Bayley tonight. They put a lot of pressure on themselves though.â
Lyra was laying down in the ring crying and upset. Bayley kneeled beside her and said:
âYou okay? You good? Weâll get another chance⊠it was not tonight but listen, weâre the best.â
Finnâs chest tightened a little.
Bayley comforting someone else â even after losing â was so her.
âPick yourself up, dust yourself off, go back to work.â
Then the unthinkable â Lyra threw Bayley into the ropes and started beating her down.
âWhat theâ Lyra, no!â
âWait a minute! Oh my goodness, Lyra about decapitated Bayley⊠frustration boiling over for Lyra Valkyria⊠the losing finally got to her and sheâs assaulting a woman whoâs been a mentor to her!â
Finnâs jaw clenched, eyes glued to the screen.
âBayley, get up⊠get upâŠâ
âLyra Valkyria has had enough.â
Lyra throws Bayley into another rope and her throat hits it again.
Finn flinched hard â hand instinctively going to his own throat.
The refs grab Lyra and get her away from Bayley.
Bayley is helped up by a trainer.
âJust a reckless assault from a woman who detonated tonight⊠a relationship ruptured⊠I mean, I get it, right? Frustrated after losing each and every opportunity youâve had, but at some pointââ
âBut Cole, Bayley didnât get pinned. Lyra did.â
Lyra grabs Bayley and hits her Knightwing finisher on her.
âAnd to your point, Corey, maybe Lyra should take a look in the mirror.â
The show goes to commercial with Bayley laying in the ring looking devastated and tired.
Finn sat frozen, staring at the screen long after it cut to black.
His hands were shaking just a little.
âBayley⊠what the hell just happenedâŠâ
He reached for his phone â not to text yet, just holding it â because he knew he would.
He always checked on her.
Especially after something like this.
Bayley stumbled through the curtain with the trainerâs arm around her, throat burning, chest tight, eyes unfocused. The noise of the O2 Arena was still echoing in her ears â the gasps, the boos, the shock.
She sat down on a crate backstage, elbows on her knees, breathing hard. Someone handed her water. Someone asked if she needed medical. Someone tried to talk to her.
She didnât hear any of it.
Her hands were shaking as she reached into her bag and pulled out her phone.
One name was already on her screen.
âBayley?â Finnâs voice came through immediately, worried, breathless, like heâd sprinted to answer even though he was sitting at home.
Bayley swallowed hard, her voice cracking. âFinnâŠâ
He exhaled sharply, relief and concern mixing. âI saw it. I saw everything. Are you alright?â
Bayley pressed her hand to her throat, eyes stinging. âSheâ she just snapped. I donât know what happened. I tried to help her, Finn, Iââ
âHey,â Finn said softly, steady, grounding. âBreathe. You donât have to explain anything right now.â
Bayleyâs breath hitched. âIt hurt.â
Finnâs tone dropped, gentle but fierce. âI know it did. I could tell. She hit you hard.â
Bayley wiped her eyes with the back of her hand. âI just⊠I didnât think sheâd do that to me.â
âOf course you didnât,â Finn said. âYou trusted her. You believed in her. Thatâs who you are.â
Bayley leaned back against the wall, letting his voice settle her shaking nerves. âI feel stupid.â
âDonât,â Finn said instantly. âDonât you dare feel stupid. You were trying to lift her up. Thatâs what youâve always done.â
Bayley let out a small, broken laugh. âYeah, well⊠look how that turned out.â
Finn sighed softly. âBayley⊠you didnât deserve that. Not any of it.â
She closed her eyes, breathing him in like oxygen. âI wish you were here.â
Finnâs voice softened even more. âI wish I was too.â
There was a long, quiet pause â the kind that only happens between people whoâve known each other forever.
âYouâre gonna be okay,â Finn said finally. âAnd when you get home⊠Iâll be there. Whatever you need.â
Bayley nodded, even though he couldnât see it. âThank you.â
âAlways,â Finn said. âAlways, Bayley.â
Bayley sat crossâlegged on the hotel bed, the lights dimmed, a bowl of mint chocolate chip ice cream melting beside her. Her throat still hurt. Her chest still felt tight. The betrayal replayed in her head like a loop she couldnât shut off.
She took a slow spoonful of ice cream â cold, sweet, familiar â hoping it would settle her nerves. It didnât.
Bayley exhaled shakily and answered.
Finnâs face filled the screen â soft lighting, messy hair, worry written all over him.
âHey,â he said gently.
Bayley swallowed. âHi.â
Finnâs eyes scanned her face like he was checking for bruises. âYou alright?â
Bayley shook her head, voice cracking. âNot really.â
Finn nodded slowly, like he expected that. âOkay. Then letâs just⊠talk. Yeah?â
Bayley curled deeper into the blankets. âYeah.â
Finn shifted, settling back against his couch. âDo you remember that night in NXT⊠the one nobody else knows about?â
Bayley blinked. âWhich one?â
Finn smiled softly. âThe night the power went out.â
Bayleyâs breath caught.
âWe were supposed to run drills,â Finn said, voice warm, nostalgic. âBut everything shut down. No lights. No ring. Just us sitting on the mats in the dark.â
Bayley felt her chest loosen just a little. âYou told me you werenât used to quiet.â
Finn nodded. âAnd you said you werenât used to being still.â
Bayley smiled â small, tired, but real.
âWe talked for hours,â Finn continued. âAbout wrestling. About life. About how scared we both were of messing up.â
Bayleyâs eyes softened. âYou told me I made NXT feel less overwhelming.â
Finnâs voice dropped, gentle. âYou did.â
Bayley took another spoonful of ice cream, her hands steadier now. âWhat else do you remember?â
Finn leaned closer to the camera, eyes warm. âThat morning you beat me to the gym. You were sitting on the ring apron eating a granola bar, and you looked up at me like I was interrupting your peace.â
Bayley laughed quietly. âI wasnât expecting anyone.â
âI know,â Finn said. âBut you scooted over and made room for me anyway.â
Bayleyâs throat tightened â but not from pain this time.
âOr that day you helped me with my promo,â Finn added. âYou didnât have to. You stayed late. You told me I didnât need to be perfect â just honest.â
Bayley blinked hard. âYou were always honest.â
Finn smiled softly. âBecause you made it easy.â
Bayleyâs eyes stung again, but the ache was different now â softer, safer.
âFinnâŠâ she whispered.
âIâm here,â he said immediately. âIâm right here.â
Bayley wiped her cheek with the back of her hand. âI donât know why she did it.â
Finn shook his head. âYou donât need to understand it tonight. You just need to breathe.â
Bayley inhaled slowly, exhaled shakily.
Finn watched her like she was the only person in the world. âGood. Just like that.â
Bayley looked at him through the screen â the man whoâd been her first friend in NXT, her partner in MMC, her quiet anchor for years.
âThank you,â she whispered.
Finnâs voice softened even more. âAlways.â
Bayleyâs breathing slowed.
Finn noticed immediately.
âYouâre tired,â he murmured.
Bayley blinked heavily. âI donât wanna hang up.â
Finn shook his head gently. âYou donât have to. Iâll stay.â
Bayley nodded, curling into the pillow, the phone propped beside her. âOkayâŠâ
Within minutes, her breaths evened out â slow, soft, steady.
Finn watched her, the glow of the screen reflecting in his eyes.
He didnât even blink too long.
And when he was sure she was asleep, he whispered one last memory â one sheâd forgotten.
âThere was a night in NXT,â he said softly, âwhen you told me you hoped weâd still be friends in ten years.â
He smiled â small, tender, meant only for her sleeping form.
âItâs been more than ten,â he whispered. âAnd Iâm still here.â
Finn stayed awake the entire night, watching over her through the screen, making sure she didnât wake up alone.
Morning light crept through the thin hotel curtains, soft and pale, brushing across Bayleyâs face. She blinked slowly, her eyes heavy, her throat still sore but her chest⊠quieter.
She shifted under the blanket, the phone still propped beside her pillow.
He was sitting on his couch, hoodie on, hair messy, eyes tired but awake â like he hadnât moved all night.
Bayleyâs voice was soft, raspy. âFinnâŠ?â
His head lifted instantly. âHey. Morning.â
Bayley rubbed her eyes. âDid you⊠stay?â
Finn nodded, a small smile tugging at his lips. âYeah. I didnât want you waking up alone.â
Bayleyâs heart squeezed â gentle, warm, aching. âYou didnât sleep?â
âWasnât tired,â Finn lied, but the softness in his voice made it sound true.
Bayley looked at him through the screen, her hair messy, her face still puffy from crying, but she felt⊠safe.
âYouâre ridiculous,â she whispered.
Finn shrugged lightly. âMaybe. But you needed someone.â
Bayley pulled the blanket tighter around herself, cheeks warming. âThank you.â
Finnâs smile deepened â small, quiet, meant only for her. âAlways.â
Bayley glanced at the melted mint chocolate chip on the nightstand and laughed softly. âI fell asleep on you.â
âYou did,â Finn said. âYou were out in like ten minutes.â
Bayley groaned. âOh my GodâŠâ
âIt was cute,â Finn added, teasing but gentle.
Bayley rolled her eyes, but she couldnât stop smiling. âYouâre too nice to me.â
Finn shook his head. âNo. Iâm exactly as nice as you deserve.â
Bayleyâs breath caught â just a little â because he said it so simply, so sincerely, like it wasnât even a question.
She looked at him again, really looked, and for the first time since the heel turn, she felt steady.
Finn leaned closer to the camera. âHowâs your throat?â
Bayley touched it lightly. âSore. But⊠Iâm okay.â
Finn nodded. âGood. Thatâs all I wanted.â
And for a moment, neither of them spoke â just soft morning quiet, two people whoâd known each other forever, connected across an ocean like it was nothing.
           Tuesday â Orlando International Airport
Bayley stepped off the plane with her hoodie pulled tight around her, sunglasses hiding the exhaustion in her eyes. Her throat still hurt. Her chest still felt heavy.
The flight had been quiet â too quiet.
She kept replaying Lyraâs heel turn, Finnâs voice on FaceTime, the way he stayed awake all night just to make sure she didnât wake up alone.
She walked through the terminal, dragging her suitcase behind her, weaving through crowds of travelers.
Standing near the baggage claim, hands in his pockets, hoodie on, eyes scanning every face until they landed on hers.
His shoulders dropped in relief.
Bayley froze for half a second â because seeing him in person after everything felt like stepping into warmth after being out in the cold too long.
Finn walked toward her, slow but sure, like he didnât want to overwhelm her.
Bayleyâs voice cracked. âYouâre hereâŠâ
Finn nodded, eyes soft. âOf course Iâm here.â
Bayley swallowed hard, her suitcase forgotten. âYou didnât have toââ
âI wanted to,â Finn said, gentle but firm. âYou shouldnât come home alone after a night like that.â
Bayleyâs breath hitched â because he said it like it was obvious, like it wasnât even a question.
Finn stepped closer, lowering his voice. âHowâs your throat?â
Bayley touched it lightly. âSore.â
Finn nodded. âWeâll get you some tea.â
Bayley blinked, eyes stinging. âFinnâŠâ
He shook his head softly. âYou donât have to say anything.â
Bayley exhaled shakily â and then she stepped forward and hugged him.
Finn wrapped his arms around her immediately, carefully, like she might break, but securely, like heâd been waiting for this moment since she left London.
Bayley pressed her forehead into his shoulder, breathing him in. âThank you.â
Finn closed his eyes. âAlways.â
They stood there for a long moment â two people whoâd been through hell in different ways, finding comfort in the one person whoâd always been steady.
When they finally pulled back, Finn took her suitcase handle.
âCome on,â he said softly. âLetâs get you home.â
Bayley nodded, wiping her eyes.
And for the first time since RAW, she didnât feel alone.
Finn unlocked the door to his house and pushed it open gently, letting Bayley step inside first. The lights were soft, the air cool, the space quiet in a way that felt safe instead of lonely.
Bayley dropped her bag by the couch and sank into the cushions, pulling her knees up, exhaustion settling into her bones.
Finn watched her for a moment â the way she curled in on herself, the way her shoulders slumped, the way her eyes looked tired in a way that had nothing to do with sleep.
âIâll make you tea,â he said softly.
Bayley nodded without looking up. âOkay.â
Finn moved around the kitchen quietly, boiling water, grabbing honey, choosing the mug he knew she liked when she visited â the one with the little cartoon bear on it.
When he brought it over, Bayley took it with both hands, letting the warmth settle into her palms.
âThank you,â she murmured.
Finn sat beside her, close but not crowding her. âYou donât have to talk about London if you donât want to.â
Bayley stared into the tea, her voice barely above a whisper. âItâs not just London.â
Finnâs brows pulled together. âWhat do you mean?â
Bayley swallowed hard. âMy contractâs up later this year.â
Bayley kept her eyes on the tea. âAnd I⊠I donât know if I want to renew.â
Finnâs breath caught â sharp, quiet, stunned.
She finally looked at him, eyes tired and honest. âI donât know if I can keep doing this. The travel. The pressure. The way everything feels lately. I just⊠I donât know.â
Finn stared at her, shock flickering across his face before it softened into something deeper â concern, fear, protectiveness.
âYouâve never said that before,â he whispered.
Bayleyâs voice cracked. âIâve never felt like this before.â
Finn leaned forward, elbows on his knees, trying to process it. âYouâre⊠youâre Bayley. Youâre the heart of the locker room. Youâreââ
âIâm tired,â she said, voice breaking. âIâm so tired, Finn.â
Finnâs expression shifted â the shock melting into something gentler, steadier.
He reached out, hesitating for a moment before placing his hand over hers.
âYou donât have to decide anything tonight,â he said softly. âOr tomorrow. Or next week.â
Bayley blinked hard, tears gathering.
âBut whatever you chooseâŠâ Finn continued, voice low and sincere, âIâm here. Iâm not going anywhere.â
Bayley looked at him â really looked â and the weight in her chest loosened just a little.
âI know,â she whispered.
Finn squeezed her hand gently. âAnd for the record⊠the thought of you leaving scares the hell out of me.â
Bayley let out a small, broken laugh. âYeah?â
Finn nodded, eyes soft. âYeah.â
They sat there in the quiet, her tea cooling between her hands, his thumb brushing her knuckles, both of them realizing this conversation meant more than either of them had admitted out loud before.
Bayley woke up on Finnâs couch, wrapped in one of his blankets, the smell of coffee drifting from the kitchen.
Finn looked over his shoulder and smiled softly. âMorning.â
Bayley stretched, wincing a little at her throat. âMorningâŠâ
Finn handed her a mug. âDrink. Then weâre going out.â
Bayley blinked. âOut?â
âYeah,â Finn said. âYou need sunlight. And fun. And something that doesnât involve wrestling rings or betrayal.â
Bayley laughed â small, but real. âOkay.â
They jog around the lake near Finnâs neighborhood, Bayley teasing him for being slow, Finn pretending to be offended.
They grab smoothies afterward, sitting on a bench in the shade, talking about nothing heavy â just stupid jokes, old memories, things that made them smile.
And for the first time since London, Bayley felt like she could breathe.
Finn showed up at her door holding two pickleball paddles.
Bayley stared. âYouâre kidding.â
âNope,â Finn said. âGet your shoes.â
They played for hours â Bayley competitive and dramatic, Finn pretending he wasnât trying but absolutely trying.
She laughed so hard she had to bend over at one point.
Finn laughed so hard he dropped his paddle.
It felt like NXT again â the lightness, the friendship, the closeness, the way they moved around each other like theyâd been doing it for years.
And Bayley realized she hadnât felt this safe in a long time.
Bayley knocked on Finnâs door Friday afternoon, expecting another day of pickleball or smoothies or quiet comfort.
âCome in!â Finn called from inside.
Bayley stepped in â and froze.
A photo album sat open on the coffee table.
Finn was sitting on the couch, elbows on his knees, staring at it like heâd been waiting for her.
Bayley walked over slowly. âWhatâs this?â
Finn swallowed, his voice soft. âSit with me.â
Finn opened the album fully â and Bayleyâs breath caught.
Photos from their entire career together.
Mixed Match Challenge backstage selfies.
Random moments fans never saw â Finnâs arm around her shoulders, Bayley laughing at something he said, Finn looking at her like she was the only person in the room.
Finn touched the first photo â them sitting on the NXT mats during the blackout night.
âThis was the first time I realized you made everything feel less scary,â he said quietly.
Bayleyâs chest tightened.
He turned the page â a picture of them at a live event, sweaty and smiling.
âThis was the night you told me I made you brave.â
Another page â MMC warmâup photos.
âThis was when I realized I trusted you more than anyone Iâd ever worked with.â
Bayleyâs throat burned â not from Lyraâs attack, but from emotion.
Finn turned one more page â a candid of Bayley hugging him after a match, her face buried in his shoulder.
âThisâŠâ Finn whispered, voice cracking just slightly, âis when I realized I didnât want to do this job without you.â
Bayleyâs breath hitched. âFinnâŠâ
He looked at her â really looked â eyes soft, vulnerable, honest.
âYou said your contractâs up,â he murmured. âAnd you donât know if you want to stay.â
Finnâs voice dropped, gentle but firm.
âI donât want you to leave.â
âI want you to stay,â Finn continued. âNot for the company. Not for the fans. Not for the titles.â
He reached out, taking her hand.
âI want you to stay because⊠you mean more to me than you know.â
Bayleyâs breath trembled. âFinnâŠâ
He squeezed her hand gently.
âYouâre the best part of my career,â he whispered. âAnd the best part of my life.â
And for the first time, she didnât look tired.
She looked like she finally understood what she meant to him.
Bayley stared at the photo album, her fingers brushing the edge of a picture where Finn had his arm around her shoulders backstage at an NXT house show. Her eyes were already glassy, her breathing uneven.
âFinnâŠâ she whispered, voice trembling. âWhy did you show me all this?â
Finn swallowed, his thumb tracing the corner of a photo like he needed the grounding. âBecause I needed you to know what youâve been to me.â
Bayley blinked hard, a tear slipping down her cheek. âAnd what am I now?â
Finnâs head snapped up â shocked she even asked.
She looked at him, eyes wide, vulnerable, searching. âWhat do I mean to you now?â
He closed the album gently, turning fully toward her.
âYou mean everything,â he said softly.
Bayleyâs lips parted, her breath shaky.
Finn continued, voice low and honest, no hesitation, no fear.
âYouâre the person I trust most. The person I look for in every locker room. The person I want to talk to after every match. The person I stay awake for even when Iâm exhausted.â
Bayleyâs tears fell freely now.
Finn reached out, brushing one away with his thumb.
âYouâre the person I worry about. The person I want to protect. The person who makes everything feel lighter just by being there.â
Bayleyâs breath hitched. âFinnâŠâ
He leaned closer, eyes soft, voice barely above a whisper.
âYouâre not just part of my past. Youâre not just NXT. Youâre not just memories.â
His thumb rested gently against her cheek.
âYouâre my present. And I want you in my future.â
Bayleyâs heart squeezed so tight she thought it might break. âFinn⊠I didnât know you feltââ
âIâve felt it for a long time,â he said, voice trembling just slightly. âI just didnât know if I was allowed to say it.â
Bayley leaned in, forehead touching his. âYou can say anything to me.â
Finn exhaled shakily, eyes closing for a moment. âI donât want you to leave. I want you to stay. Not for WWE. Not for the fans. For me.â
Bayleyâs breath caught â soft, stunned, warm.
She cupped his face with both hands, her thumbs brushing his jaw.
âFinnâŠâ she whispered, voice breaking in the sweetest way. âI care about you so much.â
Finn opened his eyes â and the look he gave her was everything.
Their lips touched â gentle, slow, warm â the kind of kiss that wasnât rushed or desperate, but full of years of trust, quiet moments, shared history, and everything theyâd never said out loud until now.
Bayleyâs hand slid to the back of his neck.
Finnâs fingers curled around her waist.
When they finally pulled back, foreheads still touching, Bayley whispered:
âIâm not going anywhere.â
Finn smiled â soft, relieved, in love.
âGood,â he murmured. âBecause Iâm right here.â
