Noel: Erm, well they needed to shoot it from a few angles, so we did it about 6 or 7 times.

Noel: And then Cam and I went outside and high-fived and we were like, "Okay. Scratch that off the list. Made out with a dude."

I just want to address something. There are a lot of people saying that fans who are letting the break up of Gallavich ruin the whole show for them are basically idiots. As if those of us that have believe that Ian and Mickey were an actual couple and that now they are no longer together our lives are over or something equally dramatic. But no. The point of it is this. For five years, the writers of this show have built up intricate and deep and complex stories for these characters - ALL the characters - but none more so, I don't believe, than Mickey Milkovich and his relationship with Ian Gallagher - the character development was INCREDIBLE. So, when this is blown up in the space of one episode and obliterated in the next, we are understandably upset and lose faith in the writers. If they can do that to our favourite characters, why should we trust that they won't do the same to all the other characters and just forget everything that has happened in the five previous seasons? The show is ruined for me because it is just not the same anymore. It doesn't help that Noel isn't in it any more either, but the break up of my OTP is not the reason I don't watch. If that was the case I would have stopped watching LOADS of shows when the couples I loved broke up. If the writing stays solid, I keep watching.

Hi, I want you to ask about Mickey and about season 6. I'm still not sure about it, because one girl told me, that Mickey will be in season 6 and another girl told me, that he won't, but in trailer Mickey was (just once, but that doesn't matter) and Ian was talking to him, do you know something about it? 'Cause I'm so angry about it, they can't take Mickey away, he is important in Shameless and he tell me, who doesn't love Mickey? Sorry for bothering you, I just want to know.

Nope. This show is just pissing me off more and more. Why are they taking one of their most important characters and making him out to be an imbecile. He knew exactly how to spell Ian's name in the first season and this is a man who he had spent time with, fallen in love with, FILLED OUT PRESCRIPTIONS FOR. Why the hell would he have forgotten how to spell his name? This is ridiculous. Stop dumping on this ship. I'm just unimpressed with it all around.
Please understand, I am aware that I am calloused, worn and rusted in all the parts of me that used to shine. But I still care, my god, I care. And I am trying.
Took a deep breath after reading the spoilers and remembered that quote from Wells talking about how it may be interesting to see ian explore other relationships and realize what he had in mickey and find his way back to him. Ian is fragile. He broke up with Mickey because he didn’t want to hurt him; he didn’t like Mickey seeing him in such a low place. But these other men, that he supposedly becomes infatuated with, don’t know him. Maybe he believes it’s a clean slate, maybe he believes he can start over with someone who he won’t pull through the ringer. But then, he’ll realize. This guy doesn’t love me. He doesn’t lose his mind if I don’t text him back. He doesn’t sleep holding me as tightly as he can as if I might get away. He doesn’t stroke my hair every morning. He doesn’t nag me to eat something with my medications so I won’t get sick. He doesn’t stare into my eyes and look at me like I am the sole reason that the earth still spins. He will realize that these men may momentarily please him, but they are no Mickey Milkovich. They can’t compare to the badass thug with a huge fucking heart and the softest spot for ian. They can distract him, but they can’t fill the place of the person he truly loves. The one he fell in love with years ago. Ian loves Mickey. Even if we all have to endure the bullshit of the century with this next season, they are in love. Here’s to hoping that the pieces will fall into place.

just reading through your posts and I was wondering how you got to meet noel. and if i'm not mistaken you invented the ship name gallavich but then the producers used it and ruined it in some way or did i interpret that the wrong? and lastly i know you've discussed the season finale but i was wondering if you think that mickey didn't put up enough of a fight. i honestly think that he would have fought a little more especially the way he'd been developing over the seasons. thoughts?
Hi! I've met Noel twice. Once at a Twilight convention and then when he was shooting TNMT, a friend and I met up with a mutual friend for coffee (well cold drinks as it was like a bajillion degrees!) in NYC and she brought him along :) It was a lot of fun, we all chatted for ages and almost missed our flight home!The ship name was actually created by my co-founder Vicki and I (mostly Vicki!) when we were chatting about Ian and Mickey one day. It was as simple as putting their names together and when we saw nobody else had come up with it, as started the Twitter and then Team Gallavich was born.The issue of the execs using it to hype us all up this last season was so amazing - seeing it on official merch and promos was really cool, but the way the season ended just kind of tainted it a bit. I think Mickey's reaction to the break-up was actually perfect. I mean, here is a guy who has given so much for the man he loves - albeit it took him a long time to get there - after an ultimatum he comes out of the closet so that he wouldn't lose Ian, and then they go on this really difficult and emotional journey together throughout season five only for Ian to break up with him just like that. It must have broken his heart and knocked all the wind out of his sails in one fell swoop and before he even has time to fully process it, he has stupid Sammi coming at him with a gun. And THAT is what pissed me off about the finale. I don't proclaim to know a whole lot about bipolar disorder but since the season ended, I have seen many people who have it post that Ian's reaction was not in keeping with how someone with BD would react.I mean, he was utterly devoid of emotion. He didn't care that Mickey was probably going to get shot AGAIN, by the woman who got him shipped off to the MPs in the first place - and she was trying to get Mickey back after he had been getting revenge for Ian. It was just shit. So that ties in to why I was annoyed with Showtime for getting us hyped up about Gallavich all season and then kicking us in the teeth in the closing minutes of the finale. I know there were issues with Noel signing on for season six, but it could (SHOULD) have been handled better.There's Shameless and there is just bad writing to get them out of a hole.Thanks for your questions.
