The boys are back in town part 5

"Anyway"Andersoncontinued, "They told me they're going down to dino's grill on friday night dressed to kill"

Lestrade nodded understandingly, that was an old code, evidently their was a case on, taking a long drink he stated out loud

"Well then, we know drinks will flow and blood will spill"

It wasAndersonsturn to chuckle then, remembering the antics of the pair

"If the boys want to fight you better let them"

They both laughed outright, remembering that time when John had flirted with a young girl and well, as they'd told it later on, that chick just got up and slapped Johnny's face.

The boys are back in town part 4

Andersondidn't have as much control as Lestrade however and outright rolled his eyes, seeing right through the poorly concealed suspicion in his voice.

"Chill, they were asking if you were around, were you was were you could be found"

Lestrade started to make his own cup of tea, slightly less worried now.

"and?"

"I told them you were living downtown, driving all the old men crazy"

He laughed a little and the poorly concealed jibe over his new friends, gained through bingo games and golf. It wasn't his fault a wound gained in service prevented anything more strenuous after all.

The boys are back in town part 3

Andersonshrugged as he poured the now boiling water into his cup, tea bag already in place,

"they haven't changed, haven't much to say" he was silent for a moment as he took a calming sip from his cup "though I still think them cats are crazy"

Lestrade resisted to roll his eyes at the younger man, he'd always had something against John and Sherlock and he'd never really understood it, other than perhaps it had a small basis of jealousy. Speaking of which, it raised the question of why he was even here telling him this, he knew Lestrade wasn't going to be the type to go and protest their return. His eye's narrowed in suspicion

"Why are you telling me this?"

The boys are back in town part 2

Lestrade shut the door, slightly stunned and followed the sallow face man, unsure if he was supposed to know the answer to what appeared to be a rather random question, even if it was causing the man considerable distress. He could smell the faint trace of beer and frowned

"Have you been down at Dino's again?"Andersonwaved him off with a shaky hand and returned to preparing tea,

"That doesn't matter now, they're back, them wild eyed boys that have been away"

Lestrade paused for a moment, was it really possible that John and Sherlock were back in town?

"What? How are they?"

He made his way quickly to lestrade's house and knocked on the door with a slight desperation, his old boss was really not going to believe this. He stamped his feet and blew into his hands to try and get the heat back into them reflecting that at least the nights would be getting warmer soon. The grey haired man opened the door with a slight amount of confusion, justifiably so, he never visited

"Anderson? What are you doing here?"

He pushed in past him and strode to the kitchen, knowing he would be more than allowed to make a cup of tea, yarders rule. As he went he yelled over his shoulder

"Guess who just got back today?"

They have always been there, in his head. Distant, fading sometimes especially when he manages to take a life or organise a perfect crime. But still there, a beating presence in his head.

Seb sometimes asks about the fob watch he keeps in his pocket. It's dull though, the urge to open it that follows. He always kicks Seb out of the country for a month or so for reminding him of it.

And not even the mystery of the drums can compare to the delight of watching Sherlock Holmes dance. Of knowing he pokes here and the man jumps, or a prod here and he snaps. So much fun. 

Familiar in a way, but fun all the same.

Somebody I used to know part 3

The song trailed off and he jumped up, racing towards him before he could leave. Unable to leave without it looking completely obvious John simply just stood there, running a weary hand through his hair.

"I don't want to know Sherlock"

He couldn't find the words to tell John how sorry he was, to explain the pain he'd put him through, so instead he leant forward and pressed his lips to John's, throwing all his emotion into it, every single thing he had and did feel about the shorter man but John pulled back his eyes empty.

"I'm sorry Sherlock, but now you're just somebody that I used to know."

Sherlock couldn't help but feel as the song went on that the lyrics were directed towards him, and he felt more and more upset as it went on. He'd really hurt John with his disappearance it seemed.

" But you didn't have to cut me off Make out like it never happened and that we were nothing"

That wasn't what happened Sherlock thought desperatly, you were in danger, if I'd of revealed myself you'd of been shot. The song continued and he felt a solitary tear drip down his cheek, he had to get to John before he left, had to explain.

It was needless to say that John reacted badly to Sherlock's return, punching him square on the nose and screaming about how he'd watched him die every night for three years, how dare he walk in here and just say 'hey' like it meant nothing! He'd ran off before Sherlock could protest, and somehow had disappeared off the face of the earth. For a month Sherlock searched, desperately combingLondonand beyond for any trace of his friend and a chance to explain, but always he just slipped away and evaded him. Finally he tracked him down to a bar, on an open mic night, his hair long and scraggly, and a fresh scar across his face. Ordering a scotch, Sherlock sat back to listen.

Sherlock blushed and smooched his lover, before dropping to his knees.

It was an eventful venture out of bed for John, thats for certain.
