Caleb was fiddling around with wires, typing some code on his laptop after he finished doing something.

He made a small grunt to acknowledge the heir’s presence. He continued to work on his project in front of him, not phased by the other’s presence.

"Happy to see you as well, my love." -> He chuckles and walks over, leaning down a little to plant a kiss onto the robot's cheek. He watched the other briefly, eyes flickering with interest before he spoke. "I got you a present." -> He pulled a sealed container, placing it down beside his lover with a pleased hum. "Being friends with the mafia means I can get you and our ruby some delightful little things... High quality parts for whatever little projects you want to do."

He saved his work on the laptop before shutting it off, turning his attention to his lover.

Mmm.

That’s good for me because some of the parts for commissions are expensive, and aren’t always the best quality.

He paused for a moment before he began to speak again.

Do you want me to open this now?

He looked at the heir with his usual dead-pan expression, waiting for a response.

"Of course. I got my hands dirty to get all of this just for you, my love." -> He chuckles and moves behind his lover, hugging the robot from behind with a smile decorating his pale face. -> The container opened with a faint hiss, the fresh scent of metal and mechanical cleaning drifting up into the air. Inside were all sorts of parts. Flashing, blinking, brand new and made out of materials that one would have to a pay a genuine and arm and leg for. -> Big parts, small parts, some that looked newer than others, all perfect and ready to experiment with. "All for you, my darling."

What does this mean.

Caleb was walking through the woods on a particularly cold day. He was wearing a lightly heftier version of his jacket and a scarf. He didn’t need all of this, he had a heating system, but Nate insisted for him to wear something warm.

-> The dragon was making his way through the forest, axe in hand and a collection of chopped up logs strapped onto his back. It's getting colder, so the dragon needed to collect wood for a fire. -> He huffed, seeing the puff of smoke that escaped his mouth drift up into the air. He chuckled, sometimes he enjoyed the colder months!

Caleb continued walking through the forest, resisting the urge to go home. After some walking, he saw the dragon in the distance. He was around 20 feet away from him, so they could clearly see each other.

Caleb simply paused for a good moment before starting to walk in the opposite direction.

"Hey there ya bucket of bolts!" -> The dragon yelled out, waving his arm as he moved towards the other. Oh admins, he's going to be as annoying as possible, isn't he? "Didn't think I'd see your metallic ass outside! Feeling the chill? Your fans working properly?"

Caleb paused, standing still while the dragon talked.

I’m only out here because Nate said I needed to get out more and he wouldn’t stop pestering me about it.

He turned toward Vilicus, that blank expression on his face. Except he looked slightly more agitated than normal.

Do you want something from me or are you just going to be a nuisance?

"What do you think the answer is?" -> He grins, sharp teeth on full display as he made his way over to the robot, tail swaying slightly behind him as he walked. "I'm shocked you even know what the outside world is! Last time I checked you never touched grass to begin with."

I don’t benefit from being outside, so why should I go out.

I say in because I have work to be doing instead of going on some useless walk in nature.

Saying at home is much better than being outside.

He kept his face deadpanned as he stared at the dragon.

"And yet you're out here. Not doing work. All because you can't say no to Ellers!" -> He snickered, eyes lighting up behind his stupid orange sunglasses. His tail wagged, he loved annoying the other so much. "And you somehow just conveniently ended up in the forest where I live in. Seems like you want something from me, Nick."

Oh please. When would I ever need something from you.

He looked away from the dragon, clearly annoyed at the use of his old nickname.

And it’s not because I can’t say no to him, it’s because he looked so sad when I kept saying no. He wasn’t going to stop pestering me about it so I gave in and left the house.

"Soooo... You basically can't say no to him? No matter how much he pesters you you just eventually give in and do whatever he asks of you? How cute, Caleb!" "Anyways... Real long walk from here back to your guys' apartment. Could let you inside my place since it is getting dark and all... You can protect yourself or whatever but I wouldn't be a good friend if I didn't let you inside."

He wanted to say no, but something in him decided he would agree to go to Vilicus’ home.

"Don't walk to slow, princess." -> He chuckled and turned, his collection of logs gently bouncing against his back as he made his way through the trees, tail dragging along the ground. "You aren't used to the forest like me and Ellers are. So stay close, yeah?"

yeah yeah… whatever…

He crossed his arms and walked along side Vilicus.

Don’t call me princess.

He murmured, looking away from the dragon. He quickly turned on his command panel and turned on his heater. He crossed his arms again and walked with his head down.

"Then don't act all high and mighty like one, Caleb." -> He snorts, a couple puffs of smoke coming out from his nostrils since it was getting colder outside. "You know very well how you act. I don't know how Ellers and Traps deal with you every damn day. I think I'd lose my mind." -> He guides the other through the forest, axe gripped tightly within one of his hands. Vils' house was... A literal treehouse. Something he basically built all by himself as he slowly got older and older. He smiled, gesturing at the ladder to the platform where the house rested on. "Princess first."

He rolled his eyes at Vilicus before he started climbing up. He got to the top and stared down at the dragon.

He didn’t say anything to the other, just stared at him until he climbed up.

-> The dragon climbed up afterwards, using his tail to bring the ladder up and hook it nearby the door.

"Don't ruin my place with your science bullshit or whatever."

-> He unlocks the door, letting the robot inside first before following behind him, closing and locking the door afterwards.

How the hell would I do that? I don’t have my equipment on me, dumbass.

He scoffed as he took off his scarf and his coat. Underneath, he still had his shirt that revealed some of his chest, which was odd if he was supposed to be wearing clothes to keep him warm.

"By existing."

-> He snickers and kicks off his shoes, pushing them onto the little mat beside the door.

"Go make yourself comfortable, yeah? Would offer you something to drink but you're, y'know, a robot and all."

"Don't be shy to use the blanket on the back of the couch to warm yourself up if you need to. It's there for a reason!"

I’m warm enough.

He took off his boots and walked over to the couch. He sat down, sighing as he closed his eyes. He took off his crown and placed it on his lap, staring down at it.

He began to speak but then paused, not continuing his sentence. He didn’t know what changed in his mind that made him not hate Vilicus. He wasn’t the forgiving type at all, so why did he want to be on better terms with the dragon.

-> He paused and stared at the robot, his ear fins pushing up slightly beneath his ushanka. Caleb's sudden shift in demeanor worried him a little.

"You okay?"

-> He walked over and sat down beside the robot, placing a hand on the other's shoulder.

Yeah, I’m fine…

He didn’t look at Vilicus.

It’s just… why have you been nice to me when I’ve been nothing but rude?

He finally looked over at the dragon, narrowing his eyes slightly.

You’re too kind to people, Vilicus.

-> He snorts. "I'm not "too kind to people". You're a bitch, yeah, but I'm not gonna treat you any less because of it. You're still friends with Ellers, someone I'm still friends with." "Sure, I wanna slap you around and tell you how much of an ungrateful cunt you are. But, y'know, can't super bring myself to hate you as much as you hate me." "We were friends at one point."

If you never “betrayed me”, we still could be.

He mumbled, looking annoyed just thinking about the past. He crossed his arms and leaned back, glaring over at Vilicus.

I don’t understand why you don’t tell me off. I’m a jackass and I know it. I don’t get why you just take it and don’t give me a piece of your mind.

Most you do is small insults. I used to threaten to go to your house and kill you. I don’t know why that doesn’t get under your skin.

I hold grudges, okay? It took me years to even somewhat forgive Traps for what he did, and I wouldn’t have if Nate didn’t give me a reason to.

He relaxed a little, no longer looking towards the dragon.

But I guess I can learn to let my hate against you die down… for Nate…

He only said that last part for himself. He didn’t want to believe that it was him who wanted to no longer have a grudge against Vilicus.

"I think the reason I'm not some uncontrollable bitch like you are is because I don't hold grudges or whatever."

"I've stopped caring about what happened back then for like, I don't know, years now? So like, teach yourself how to stop hating people so much for shit they've done in the past."

I can’t program human emotions into me, you idiot. I have to learn from you guys on how to feel and shit. It’s stupid and I hate it.

He started talking to himself, still covering his face which muffled his voice slightly.

All of this is stupid. Why couldn’t I just be normal and not made by a random inventor.

Well, I suppose he is thinking about his life choices in a way.

-> The dragon came back after a while and walked over to the couch, dropping down beside the disgruntled robot. His tail curled slightly, resting across his own lap. "You'd benefit from learning how we feel, Caleb." -> He clicks his tongue, the noise akin to someone clicking a lighter. Makes sense, he is part fire dragon after all. "Thank the admins you've got a good influence like Ellers."

If it was that easy to change, I would have already.

He took his hands off his face, looking over at Vilicus.

I have to reprogram myself to learn emotions and all that shit from you guys. Which… isn’t that hard now that I’m thinking about it…

He turned toward Vilicus, that blank expression on his face. Except he looked slightly more agitated than normal.

Do you want something from me or are you just going to be a nuisance?

I don’t benefit from being outside, so why should I go out.

I say in because I have work to be doing instead of going on some useless walk in nature.

Saying at home is much better than being outside.

He kept his face deadpanned as he stared at the dragon.

He rolled his eyes at Vilicus before he started climbing up. He got to the top and stared down at the dragon.

He didn’t say anything to the other, just stared at him until he climbed up.

-> The dragon climbed up afterwards, using his tail to bring the ladder up and hook it nearby the door.

"Don't ruin my place with your science bullshit or whatever."

-> He unlocks the door, letting the robot inside first before following behind him, closing and locking the door afterwards.

He scoffed as he took off his scarf and his coat. Underneath, he still had his shirt that revealed some of his chest, which was odd if he was supposed to be wearing clothes to keep him warm.

"By existing."

-> He snickers and kicks off his shoes, pushing them onto the little mat beside the door.

"Go make yourself comfortable, yeah? Would offer you something to drink but you're, y'know, a robot and all."

"Don't be shy to use the blanket on the back of the couch to warm yourself up if you need to. It's there for a reason!"

He took off his boots and walked over to the couch. He sat down, sighing as he closed his eyes. He took off his crown and placed it on his lap, staring down at it.
