synopsis: blue lock characters if they were in a school orchestra
cw: none.
a/n: i had to dig thru my decaying mind trying to scrape up memories of orchestra.
Doesn’t practice and wings it on the playing test but the directors can’t do anything because he’s one of two bass players across the entire orchestra.
Adds obnoxious vibrato to everything but it sounds odd because his bow is just slipping and sliding on the strings (applies rosin to his bow once every two blue moons).
When he actually does apply rosin, he applies too much and his bow is shedding rosin dandruff for the next week straight.
Only joined the orchestra because of the end of the year theme park trip.
Wears stupid socks underneath his concert black and dramatically lifts his pants up to reveal them.
Plays first violin (of course) but used to play the piano.
Is locked into a fierce competition with Isagi over being first chair violin and concert master.
Posture is so uncomfortably straight that it looks like someone shoved an iron rod up his bum.
Stand partner of doom and despair (he’ll slime you out if you play a single millisecond off beat or if you’re half a twinge out of tune).
His fingering and bowing is so elegant.
Flow mode: violin player (he’s so locked in while playing, like genuinely swaying with the music type locked in).
Viola player (plucks his viola like he’s strumming a guitar).
Acting like it’s a solo performance instead of a group one (insists on adding his personal flair to every piece he plays).
Perfect pitch (cooks on the tuning tests).
Ripped up the pants of his concert black because he wanted to decorate them but got screamed at by the assistant orchestra director.
Always has his back turned away from the directors and towards the basses during class (he’s talking to Charles instead of practicing his scales– lowkey half the time he doesn’t even participate in orchestra class unless he finds the activity interesting).
Him and Charles STILL guffaw at “pp (very hard)” whenever it appears on their sheet music.
Lowkey in his own world during class (he starts zoning out whenever the assistant orchestra director starts screaming at the second violins because they’re out of tune).
Piano prodigy (doesn’t pay attention in class but can bust out the piece perfectly the first time).
Genuinely sight reading skills carry him so hard.
His stool doesn’t have a back like all the string players’ chairs, so his posture resembles a shrimp’s.
Has somehow forgotten to wear his concert black on multiple separate occasions.
First chair cello and part of the UIL and regional orchestra like the goat he is.
Constantly getting clipped for the school orchestra Instagram account (at this point, he’s the mascot of the orchestra).
Intonation master (his intonation always sounds crispy clear).
Millennial beige mom ahh organized binder (it’s divided into sections, the sheet music is all coded, and he keeps a strict log of all his practice hours).
Highkey eats up the concert black fit.
Second violin (used to be a first but Anri had to split the violins up cause there were too many of them and gave him the second violin part.
Genuinely acts like being in the school orchestra is one of mankind’s deepest and darkest secrets (like he’s shackled in band or something).
Ironically, he’s one of the better second violins and is lowkey one of the pillars of his section.
His mating call is practicing at 200 bpm even though the music is played at 100 bpm in class (“the ladies are gonna love this!” ahh).
Gatekeeps his expensive rosin and only lends it out to Aiku.
Practices Beabadobee in class instead of the actual music he’s supposed to play for the orchestra concert.
Third violin player… (always given the third violin parts).
Yearns to be a first violin but always screws up his playing tests (no matter how much he practices) so the directors think he sucks when he’s actually a decent player.
Stiff ahh wrist (his wrist reflects his mental state and will get more stiff as his anxiety increases).
Sheet music is always marked up like a book for lit class and the actual music notes are barely visible cause they’re being strangled by highlighter and pen marks.
Sits on the very tippy edge of his chair so three quarters of his bum isn’t even on the chair.
CANNOT keep up with the beat to save his life, even if there’s a metronome in the back.
Assistant orchestra director of salt, vinegar, and everything sinister.
Raging perfectionist (if someone messes up even a single line, trust the ENTIRE orchestra is gonna be held back after class and forced to practice the piece until their fingers fall off).
Being disciplined by him feels like a public humiliation ritual.
Feasts on the snacks Anri buys for all the students doing after school orchestra practice.
Seeing all the corny orchestra themed inspirational posters Anri hangs in the orchestra room makes him seethe.
Expects everyone to know how to shift to third position and perfectly tune by ear (even though half the orchestra is composed of newbies).
Intimidating in the way that she's not mean but rather very passionate about her job.
Being disciplined by Anri is highkey emotionally worse than being disciplined by Ego.
She’s like the school’s football coach in the way she’s actively trying to recruit more students (to join the orchestra).
The only reason why the school orchestra is good – let alone running – is because she’s the fellow who saved it from spiraling into disarray (before her, the funding was so bad and everybody in the orchestra was so buns).
Ego and her run the orchestra like it’s the navy (or at least they try to because there are some certain anomalies in the orchestra that defy their instructions).
