Heyo~ I'm still alive, despite everything

Been a while! Again. Sorry for the inconsistency, me is very very not good at handling multiple sites at once. Also last half year or so has been a bit uncertain for me, lots of things going on.

Quick update on the most notable things:

I've somewhat rebranded! Moved from Zegryphos to Teikkiet, now sharing a name with one of my characters. I was a bit hesitant, but in the end Teikkiet as a name means more to me than Zegryphos for multiple reasons, so I took the plunge.

Also, I've come out as trans! I've actually known for a long time, but it took me a while to gather the courage to go public about it. My pronouns are she/her, and I've had a grand time enjoying being myself~

Other than that, things are pretty much the same. I still do art for a living (my commission queue is still full but I'm almost through with the latest projects), and I'm still trying to get by as best I can to keep a roof above my head.

Gonna try to cross-post more often, I've set up some tools for this that hopefully should work. Fingers crossed.

I'll leave you on the way out with the art I did for coming out at the end of last year!

A sketch! Also, an update on things

Okay, things seem set in place well enough… time for an update I think!

Sorry if I've been a bit absent from socials lately, I've been in the process of looking for and applying to a few local job opportunities. And… I got one, starting next monday.

This has honestly been long overdue. To quickly recap, I've been living on my own after moving from my home country for about a year and a half now. So far, I was able to sort things out with savings, commissions and the odd side job I managed to pick up along the way. However, I ran out of savings a good while ago, side jobs have not been enough and, while I love doing them, commission work has not been consistent enough to get by on its own.

So yeah, getting a stable job was, at this point, kind of a necessity. And I'm glad I could sort something out. The job in question is not something I'm particularly excited about (aka nothing art or design related), but it's good enough for now. And the pay is good enough for me to start saving up again. After things have settled well enough into pace, I'll be able to continue looking for better options as well.

What does this mean for me in terms of art and other creative projects? Well, hopefully I'll be able to handle my schedule so that I can still do art stuff on the side, but I won't be open for commissions as often as I used to, if at all. I just don't want to leave people in a wait list, or to risk burning out on art in what little time I'll be able to have for it. So I'll be pivoting more towards developing my characters, worldbuilding, a bit of writing, and a good pinch of fanart for whatever tickles my fancy for good measure. I may still do commissions from time to time, to treat myself to something nice or to cover unexpected expenses.

I'll be taking this remaining week to finish up commission work that's already been paid for, maybe a quick sketch or two, and then we'll see how the new work schedule treats me. If I can, I'll try to doodle and post more often, no promises yet though.

So yeah! That's about how things are going. I've honestly been quite a bit stressed about my current situation for a while, and now that I'll have a stable job things should start to stabilize and hopefully improve soon enough. Here's hoping everything goes well! I'll see y'all around~

Goblin sorcery? Yeah, goblin sorcery.

Seems Granate found some old tomes on ancient sorcery and decided to give it a go. What could possibly go wrong~? This started as just a warmup to try out new tools and brushes, then I took the chance and also did some simple background practice. Nothing fancy, but I like how it came out!

Gobtober 2023 Adoptables going live!

Better late than never, huh?

Last year's gobtober I did a round of adoptables with what I managed to do from prompts. This year I didn't have as much time to actually sketch many prompts, so instead I paired some of them together at random and came up with these little fellas here!

They're based on my personal brand of gobbos, which you may have seen before around here. They also come with a name and some short descriptions to get you started, but you may freely keep them or come up with your own stuff if you get one!

Heya~

Been a bit quiet this month. I had every intention of continuing to add on to those lore tidbits I started to share, and still have a couple of them almost ready to go, buuuut life and work got in the way, as they do. Currently I'm trying to reorganize my schedule for the rest of the year and onward so that I don't end up in an overload.

In the meantime though, I've also been working on some gobtober-themed adoptable characters based on this year's prompt list by @urivart, and I'm hoping to have them ready this week. After that I should have some time to do some long overdue fanart for some cool gobbos, and then continue with worldbuilding and l o r e ~
