First USD commission

Yay, someone commissioned me to color them a lavalamp butt pet. :D Was really fun working on it. :) If you want to commission me too, here is my info on Aywas.

Prompt was Starry Rave with cold colors for the body, bright for the stars and the Lunaris Starry Soup item as inspiration for the part inside the lamp (and the tail).

PSD shading coloring question?

Hey Aywas people. :)

I feel like I have improved with my coloring some since I started coloring. This was one of the first colorings I did for myself:

And the most recent ones are the collabs with @needchocolatenow. :)

I’m happy with my growth, but I feel like there are still things I can improve on, especially my coloring of the shading. I always feel like my designs fall a bit on the flat side.

I’d appreciate any advice you could give me. What I do right now is: Select pixels on a layer, go to the shading layer and color the shading (set to multiply) for the particular area in the same color or slightly darker. Whenever I try just using (for example) a purple to color the shading in for everything, it ends up looking... muddy. :/ So... help please on how to decide what color to use for the shading without having to try every single color there is :D
