      Eugh, his showing off is giving her a headache. Peacock frowns, watching him kill another monster with skill and ease, slightly pissing her off more than she’d like to admit. Why can’t he just be clumsy or something so she can make fun of him more easily!?

      She can’t even say names are stupid considering she has her own signature moves that she yells out. It’s like she’s from a fighting game or something.

      “I dunno, maybe don’t sound so cheesy when yer killin’. What’re yer other ideas? Beautiful Love♡Beam Shoot or something crappy like that?” If he actually takes that as a serious suggestion, she’s going to lose her goddamn mind. “I got my own move names, y’know, but there’s no point in sayin’ ‘em when I can’t even perform them just yet. These light beams ain’t shit compared to Argus Agony!”

Hey, isn’t it only natural to show off when you’ve suddenly turned into something akin to a magical girl protagonist? The grin on Wataru’s face only widens, taking note of how Peacock seems to be a bit irritated. Are his newfound magical skills impressive? 

That’s a rhetorical question. He knows they are.

“I just might have to take that suggestion into account... ✰” It’s cheesy and over the top, but all of this stuff in general is, right? Plus, he’s pretty sure that was a joke to poke fun at him, and he won’t make it that easy to win at that game. “However, I am no expert, but in such programs where things like this happen, are they not generally over the top? In that case, I’m only following in with the spirit of magical beings! Amazing... ✰ My, though, I wonder what you can normally do if these beams are not a satisfying enough power?”

      Sure enough, it was a familiar face looking back at him! Peacock poses, obviously smug about being able to unleash her attack before Wataru could. Their encounter previously was uncanny, but for the time being, she’s going to shift her focus on their current situation rather than some lapse of memory she possibly has.

      He’s still a stranger to her either way, so killing a monster before him isn’t any skin off her nose.

      “What? Ain’tcha happy t’see me?” She goes back to her previous fighter stance, the smile not leaving her face. “Listen, I got a tip fer ya: if yer gonna talk, you better be prepared to talk and shoot! Otherwise you’ll have someone stealin’ yer kill.”

Wataru continues to pout as she speaks, though it’s pretty obvious he’s trying to keep it there on purpose and fighting back a grin. He is having fun--and is that supposed to be some kind of challenge? Is Peacock challenging him? He can’t just sit back and give in!

“Oho... ✰ Why, I never said I was disappointed! But is it not common in stories like this to give your attacks names? Therefore, it is only fitting that I do the same!”

And then he shoots down another one of the little buggers, totally forgetting about fighting back that grin. He has to show off! That’s how these things work!

“Ah-- but I will have to come up with more names! It is no fun, if I am only repeating the same thing endlessly, right? I wonder if you have any ideas ✰?”

“My, there are quite a number of these pesky things trying to swarm you! Shall I lend a hand ✰?”

He isn’t sure if the girl needs much help or not, but it’s better to be safe than sorry, right? Besides, there is a little part of him that’s trying to go off and do as much as he possibly can like this. It’s not every day you just get to become some kind of magical boy, after all!

“This is amazing, is it not! To be able to do things such as fly is like a dream, and this Hibiki Wataru intends to make the most of it... ✰“

He is absolutely having fun with this. How could he not, when he’s suddenly gained the ability to fly and cast down the enemies threatening to spread misery and pain! Sure, he wasn’t a member of the ‘allies of justice’ unit, but that didn’t mean he wouldn’t take this and run with it!

“Ufufu! Amazing Heart♥Shot! You see? I’ll take you down, so--” 

Except someone else steals the spotlight before he can. Rude! A pout forms on Wataru’s features as he turns to look, spotting a fairly familiar face grinning back at him.

“My, and I was having such a good time, but you are stealing the carpet right from under my feet! But I cannot be outshined so easily, you know ✰!”

This boy is familiar. Very familiar, actually; it takes him a few moments to realize where he’d seen the kid before, but once he makes the connection in his mind, Wataru wastes no time in bolting over with a boisterous laugh escaping him. Of course! Why didn’t he realize immediately?

“Amazing...! To think that I would come across a fellow student in a place like this, it must simply be fate! Ufufu... You are the young ninja boy, yes? One of Kanata’s precious juniors? Splendid... ✰! I wonder, if he is here? Surely you would have seen him if that were the case, yes?”

He doesn’t really think twice before bombarding the poor boy with a flurry of words, but if he’s right, there’s something a little relieving about the situation.

Perhaps it’s a good thing the bakery he’d ventured into was fairly empty at the time. Wataru isn’t the type to grow irritated quite so quickly, but surely he couldn’t say the same for others. He thinks this to himself as he glances down towards the boy in front of him, taking note of the intrigued expression he sees. Well, it wasn’t like anyone was rushing to the counter, so...

“My, my? Is there something you are curious about? Or could it simply be that everything looks too good, and your stomach and heart cannot come together to make a choice so easily... ✰“

“Wahahaha... ✰!”

It was in his nature to be performative--that wouldn’t change, no matter where he finds himself. This city is vast and unusual, a far cry from the everyday life he’d grown used to, but at least the fact that people find enjoyment from viewing performances remains the same.

The laugh he lets out as he hops down from his temporary ‘stage’ is just as energetic as his song was. Most of the passerby had already left, but Wataru decides to pinpoint one in particular before they too wandered off. They gave him a specific sort of vibe, after all.

“You!” A grin crosses his features as he raises a finger to point, perhaps a bit too dramatically (but he was just like that). “I wonder--are you, too, someone who is star-crossed with the world of music? I could very well be wrong, but this Hibiki Wataru is also very clever... ✰”

“I wonder, would you be kind enough to spare me a moment of your time... ✰?”

His tone is casual as he speaks, but the reality of his situation is that he’s entirely baffled by what he just witnessed. Seeing everything upon the streets suddenly shift into entirely different locations was a bit of a shock, even for someone who was so invested in the element of surprise himself. It doesn’t quite help that Wataru now finds himself lost, either.

“Somehow, along the way to my destination... it seems everything has gone topsy-turvy, yes? I was quite certain I saw something catch my eye, but now nothing is as it was before... ✰ I will admit, I am quite befuddled.”

He really has no idea what compelled his captors to gift him with a banjo upon his arrival here. Yes, he’s well immersed in the world of music and very versatile, but it’s still an odd choice of instrument regardless. Though perhaps a banjo is better than something like a harmonica... or would a harmonica have been better? 

There’s not much use pondering over such things, however, especially when he’s already started to get the hang of the instrument. Perched on a bench and strumming a tune, Wataru’s voice carries along to the music, not really paying all too much attention to passerby until he catches sight of one in particular. A very peculiar appearance--but why does he get a strange sense of deja vu again? Ah, well. Another mystery, he supposes.

“Oho...? Has my tune caught your ear ✰? Or perhaps it is this instrument? I am not accustomed to it, but it is not so hard.”

“Oh, my...?”

He can’t pretend he’s not curious. Rather, he might be making it a bit too obvious, with a hand curled thoughtfully around his chin as he leans left and right, peering down at the stranger. More specifically, their hair; he’s never seen anyone with hair like that (if you could call it such to begin with?). Though frankly, there were numerous peculiar things about the figure that he’d like to ask about, but one thing at a time!

“Such a shine--unlike anything I’ve ever seen! Is it simply natural? Certainly a far cry from the features of human hair... Hmm, Hmm... Amazing! I have many questions, so I wonder if you would allow me to express my curiosity... ✰?”

“Ufufu... ✰ I must wonder; where are you from?”

Wataru peers out at the man next to him from behind the mask he’d been playing around with, an intrigued grin curling on his lips. This place was undoubtedly filled with all sorts of people, but there was something specific about the man’s clothing that gained his attention right away. 

“Your garb reminds me of stories told from the past--for example! Such works of Shakespeare are well known enough, yes... ✰?”
