CPH MIX Festival --- 9 - 11 october 2014 Popular media and post modern visual culture often use – and sometimes completely out of context – personalities and photos of queer subcultures and other exotic environments in media, advertising and film. This trend is interesting and inspiring, but often exploitative and superficial. “SEARCHING FOR A THRILL !” examines this phenomenon and will try to reclaim a certain queer heritage. The installations include video clips from fashion, music videos, TV shows, video art etc., which represents a queer aesthetic that has been used consciously or unconsciously by the producers. Expect a colorful candy store of audiovisual queer stimulation on all the shelves!
