Have you ever woken up from a dream where tears are caught in your throat? Like you were desperately racing to find someone, anyone – a lost love – only to arrive late and having all the hope and expectation drained out of you in one fell whoosh? It’s like listening to your heart turn to frost, forming into a glacial gland of crystal, splintering to a thousand pieces before it shatters deep inside your chest. You feel the light that used to be there within you fade, extinguished by a sudden wave of inconsolable emptiness. And you wake up to find yourself in a dark room, the dream still clinging to you like a black veil oppressively hanging on to your face, your shoulders. Where is everyone? Where am i?
