“How about YOU step away from her!” Peridot summoned her staff as she readied for battle. “Step away from the convict!” Peridot growled as she attempted to push Sapphire out of her way.

Her entire demeanor went cold, she summoned her gauntlet. She swiftly picked up her counterparts gem off the floor. Using her fast running ability to dodge the push from the green gem.

“We haven’t done anything wrong!”

“That isn’t what I was told! You are a rebel- and so is your ‘lover’!” Peridot growled as she scowled as she held her staff high. “I am Peridot! I am apart of a high council- and you WILL fall to me!”

"Tell Me”

Peridot was standing clear clear away from her opposing force- a psychologist. She squinted her eyes as the woman tried to get the truth out of her- she knew it was tell or be sent back to solitude.Peridot looked up to face Riff-and she only could cry. Tears began to roll down her green face as she removed her visor and wiped her eyes. She couldn’t keep it hidden. She began to curl up in fetal position as she kept murmuring apologies. She looked back to Riff and back down to herself. She blinked as her eyes were obviously tired and red. She opened her mouth- but no response.“I…I have no mouth…But I must scream…”That was all she could let out. She finally released her legs and again blinked.“I…I’m scared.I’m scared of failing.I don’t want to fail..I’m scared of punishment,disappointment..Everything!Anything I try-I fail…Please help me…Please…”

Giving her a remorseful look, Riff knelt down and pulled the gem into an embrace. “OK. I will help you. Let it out.”

“It all started when… I reactivated Kindergarten. Or.. TRIED! Three- FOUR gems stopped me… and I as punished when I reported it… I was damaged badly from a Gem De-stabilizer. It took a while before I was allowed back into power… Those four gems KEPT destroying my things! It was awful…”

“I understand. Keep going.” She was no gem, but understood why this all happened: Those four gems were protecting Earth, and Peridot suffered a fate worse than death. “Tell me: Are you too far gone? Because I see redemption in you.”

“I can never recover… Too far gone. From the day I was hatched I have lived by these rules- succeed- or punishment. The pressure always caused me to fail- I don’t know why this happens to me…”

“Perhaps it’s to tell you that those rules are wrong, that you are meant to do good instead of bad… After all, not all sinners are saints, but they can be redeemed for their sins, Peridot… No one’s perfect.”

“That’s not what I was told. Everybody had to be perfect- if you were.. imperfect- or defective- you were to be killed instantly. The only reason I was never assassinated- was because I was one of the smarter gems. But.. That does kind of help…” Peridot wiped the tears on her cheeks- and put her visor back on.

“Wah–Healing powers? Whaddya mean healing powers? You mean like… Oh! You mean like how The Diamond Authority has healing powers? Interesting! Wait—” As Peridot was dangled over the fountain- she began to shiver and panic. She jumped out of the other’s arms and fell deep into the fountain. “HMMRRPH!”

==> The gem jumped bit slightly as the other fell into the ocean, using their shape shifting powers to elongate their arms, moving them into the fountain to search for the other as the pull her out.

“Well, atleast you’re okay to say the least. Plus, maybe we should take some of this home.”

“Hmph.. I agree. The site may have been compromised before it could be again- we should take some so we don’t have to return and have a run in with them.” Peridot noticed her gem had been healed- it gleamed as she summoned a jar. She bent down- and scooped up as much of tears she could grab. “Good. Lets leave.”
