Okay I talked about this in the tags of another post, but people who followed me for Stranger Things, I IMPLORE you to watch Team Starkid’s Hatchetfield series. It’s a series of interconnected musicals (and two seasons of a web series and a short film, if you really want to get into the lore) that takes place in a small Michigan town where evil eldritch creatures haunt the citizens (sound familiar?).

Hatchetfield has everything! Such as:

Alternate dimensions! (That the government is secretly involved in) (and the Russian government too apparently?)

Children with mind powers! (Bonus points for one of them being a girl who’s semi-verbal)

Evil creatures!

Small American town vibes 💖

A mall!

High schoolers who have very normal teenage lives outside of the monsters!

A Dad with trauma from a sudden loss that he blames himself for and his time in the military!

An parentified older sibling who steps up in place of their abusive, alcoholic parent!

High school almost-sweethearts who reconnected after the woman in the pairing got out of her abusive marriage!

The tone is much different than ST (dark, mature humor), and as previously mentioned, they are musicals, but there are quite a few parallels, and I love an excuse to promote Team Starkid. They also have lots of other works outside of the Hatchetfield universe, and everything is free to watch on YouTube :)
