Waiting on God’s Time

    Today, many young people whether they’re Christian or not believe its a bad thing to wait. I’ve seen it first hand. I grew up in a small town. The local high school was crawling with teen mothers and pregnancy on top of pregnancy. If you didn’t have a child people though something was wrong with you. When I was 14/15, 2 of my friends dropped out of school because they became pregnant. I knew I didn’t want that. To this day I watch teens become pregnant and then have no way to raise that child on their own. They end up being raised by the grandparents. 

Hebrews 13:4   Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.

    After watching all of my friends go though boy after boy and then a pregnancy scare and sometimes even a pregnancy. I made the decision that I was going to wait until marriage. My friends knew this and didn’t push to change my perspective. At the age of 16 I started wearing a purity ring, on my left ring finger. As school went on I had people ask if I was married, and of course I wasn’t and they’d give me a weird look and ask why I wore a ring. I’d proceed to explain what the ring meant. I’d get a few more crazy looks and some not so good words from people. I didn’t let it bug me. Everyone has their own convictions and know what they should and shouldn’t do.

1 Corinthians 10:13  No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

    I learned at an early age that when someone gets married, the white dress is a sign of virginity. Today most people wear a white dress just because its the norm. You don’t see women wearing a different colored dress very often. I am here to tell you not everyone is doing it. I am a 23 year old that has made the commitment to wait till marriage for any kind of intimacy, regardless of what the world says I should be doing.

Psalms 119:9-10  How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word. With my whole heart I have sought You: Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments!

Ark Encounter

My church went to the Ark Encounter yesterday. It was magnificent! It’s hard to put into works the feel of have big it is. I don’t think anyone realizes how big it was when Noah built it. I believe this is a must see for every Christian. There is so much perspective for how it truly was when Noah built it. This Ark was built by the verses in the bible that God told Noah in Genesis.

Genesis 6:14-16 Make yourself an ark of gopherwood; make rooms in the ark, and cover it inside and outside with pitch. And this is how you shall make it: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, its width fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits. You shall make a window for the ark, and you shall finish it to a cubit from above, and set the door of the ark in its side, you shall make it with lower, second, and third decks.

         A cubit is 18 inches so this verse would translate to 5400 inches long (450 feet), 900 inches wide (75 feet), and 540 inches tall (45 feet). The window mentioned in verse 16 would be 18 inches from the top. If you think about these lengths it’s massive. A football field is 360 feet. So that would be 1 ¼ football field’s make of the length of the Ark.

Seasons of Life

Today is March 9th, It's almost 5:30 am. I have been up for 2 1/2 hours after only being asleep for 3. My grandpa Bernie has come to the end of his last season. He has been on a ventilator since February 25th. It was his wishes to be put on the vent. He had pneumonia and need extra help breathing. A week later we were told he was being moved to Cleveland Clinic because they would know what to do. Since we live 450 miles away from him I never really got to know him. We'd spend a few hours with Grandpa and Dottie once a year. I have to hold on to knowing I WILL see him again. I know he knew Christ and believe in the death, burial and resurrection. He knew Christ as his Savior. This passage from Ecclesiastes 3 has been great comfort in the past. To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven: A time to be born, And a time to die; A time to plant, And a time to pluck what is planted; A time to kill, And a time to heal; A time to break down, And a time to build up; A time to weep, And a time to laugh; A time to mourn, And a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, And a time to gather stones; A time to embrace, And a time to refrain from embracing; A time to gain, And a time to lose; A time to keep, And a time to throw away; A time to tear, And a time to sew; A time to keep silence, And a time to speak; A time to love, And a time to hate; A time of war, And a time of peace. I know to keep God close He knows what is best for my grandpa. I don't want him to suffer anymore than he has too. His life support will be turned of this afternoon, once my uncle who is flying in from Texas gets to the hospital. Grandpa's kidneys have started to shut down. His lungs are deteriorating and won't stay inflated. The doctors give him about an hour after once the machines have been shut off.

Dear Person Seeking Abortion

           Since you are interested in having an abortion I want to inform you on an important fact about the baby you are trying to kill. Did you know the heart starts beating 18 days after conception? Most women don’t know about the pregnancy after only being pregnant for 2 weeks and 4 days. Once a pregnancy has been detected usually between 6 and 8 weeks the heart has been beating for at least 4 weeks. Doesn’t the heart mean it’s a living thing? If it has a heart why do you want to terminate it? This baby is already growing; he/she would choose life. If you talk to anti-abortion causes they will tell you it isn’t a baby yet because it just tissue. Since it just tissue maybe your mom should have aborted you, you wasn’t a baby yet. If you have this mindset you are asking for emotional pain, and scaring. Women who have had abortion have been known to regret their decision. If you don’t want to raise a child you can choose life and place this innocent baby up for adoption and a loving family will choose to care for your child. According to CNN (2014) Norma McCorvey regrets her decision to file Roe v Wade in 1971. She wanted to dismiss her case in 2003 but it was overturned in 2004. Yes, this is a country where you have freedom of speech and freedom to privacy and to do as you wish but how do you think your child wishes you’d choose? If you’re a religious person then you know that God has a purpose for this life. Jeremiah 1: 5 which according to The Jeremiah study Bible: NJKV (2014) “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” God knew you before your mother know about you. How would the creator of the world feel if you decided to terminate one of his creations?
