This is Peridot 5u3t cabochon 5xl of blue diamond's court

It's been nearly a month since

I've been captured while on earth

The humans in charge finally gave me this device to log the experiments with which I will be starting soon

They've put me in some sort of device around my neck to neutralize my powers and to keep me from fleeing

They've figured out how to grow their own gems but in all the wrong ways

They plan on making soldiers and slaves of the perfected ones but have yet to reach that quality of gems

These gems are worse than any forced fusion I've ever heard of

The things I've had to bear witness to I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy

Word around the building is that these new recruits start in a few days, at the start of the next week. I hope things go well for them, or better yet they don't show up at all.

Orange Pearl has been using my device lately, and has found an application called "Procreate". I've never seen it before, I have no idea how I even missed it! I've had this device for almost a year now, unless it's new... I haven't asked her how she found it, yet. ...I don't really talk to her that much, aside from asking yes or no questions. I mean, I guess sometimes I talk at her, and she just listens, but she never really has anything to say. At least she can confide in this "Procreate".

Hello again, notes and audience. I apologize for my lack of updates, yet again have I had no time for them, and I’ve simply just forgotten when I did. We’ve been decreasing in numbers human-wise, either due to leaving on their own volition or... tragic accidents. The Director here doesn’t seem to care, and I’ve heard that he’s already recruited a group of more humans to join us soon. Is it weird to say that I feel bad for the humans? I never really felt for them, but it seems that they can’t reform the same way Gems can... 

But in other, lighter news, one of the humans have been talking to me and the Orange Pearl quite frequently, and she seems very nice. She calls herself Sarah H., as identified by her nametag. She also introduced us to a Spinel from another one of the testing chambers, and they call her Poppy... I’ve never heard of a Gem that didn’t use their own name, but also I never would have expected for the humans to try and replicate the work of the Diamonds. Poppy is very silly, and when she’s not busy, she likes to come visit Orange Pearl and I and sing and dance for us. She’s such a sweetheart, despite our unfortunate environment... I don’t know how she keeps up a smile, but it’s nice to have a reason to smile, now.

Her gem is located on her right eye, and it’s cracked. I wonder if she emerged like that, or if the humans did something... She doesn’t like to talk about it, and ignores me when I ask.

Hey Peridot, are you alright? Are the humans treating you "well"?

I'm probably as fine as I'm going to get while here. It's not great, but I'm... managing. The humans were really rough at first, but as long as I comply and help them with their tests and stuff they're nice around me. Well, nice pretty much entails not talking to me or even looking at me, but hey! I'm not complaining. The other gems aren't as lucky though...

Log Date 12 23 01

The humans have been really lacking when it comes to their intelligence for the past 24 hours, not that they had any to begin with. They keep talking about some sort of event I presume called Crisp Mess? Whatever they have planned for that day is really slowing down their production and causing distractions and problems amongst the lab. Some hostile specimen escaped the containment centers they were in due to the lack of proper enclosure security, handfuls of gems were overbaked and some even shattered before they were given life, and way too many mutations and disfigurements to count in the ones that did make it. Except I did count them, but I'll spare the details since they were logged elsewhere. As we get closer to Crisp Mess day, I expect to see a lot more failures and errors than successful experiments...

I've been getting accustomed to this device and things are a lot easier to understand now, I've even figured out how to find funny pictures and games to help pass the time! There's also a photo capture device on here, and I'm thinking that maybe soon I can compile some photos without the researchers knowing. Some pictures would be nice add-ons to my logs I think...

I don’t have the time to apologize for my absence as too many things have happened since my last update. First, I’ve learned how to properly format these stupid notes, including punctuation! Took long enough. 

More importantly however, they’ve finally attempted at recreating a Diamond- but the results were horrific. The gem never took the form of a bipedal being like the others, in fact, she looked more monstrous than anything I’d ever seen before. It took more than half of all the researchers in the lab to take her down, but not before claiming a few of their lives. Unfortunately, she had to be... shattered, as we couldn’t risk her being brought back. I saw them put the shards into some sort of incubator, I assume they’re going to try again and recreate her. 

They’ve also started performing... forced fusions on some smaller gems, such as Rubies, Morganites, Sapphires, Lazulites, various Spinels too... The results are very... not good, for a lack of a proper word to describe how awful they come out. I couldn’t imagine being unwillingly put through something like that. I do truly feel for them, as they’ve done nothing to deserve to be turned into ... ...monsters.

On a more lighter note in the lab, they were successfully able to create some Pearls that looked nearly perfect! In order to perfect these gems, they had to sacrifice the various abilities that the Pearls naturally hone, such as fusion, storage within their gems and holograms- for the most part.

Somewhat related, the Pearl I’ve mentioned before- the one with the hologram for a head, and I have been getting to know each other, which sounds a bit weird considering the situation, but there’s not much else to do in the labs when you have free time. She’s very sweet! Maybe I’ll let her look at the strange device I’m using here...

I haven't been able to update due to my device mysteriously powering off and not until this morning was I given the means to use it again

I will update later as crouching next to this wall isn't particularly comfortable

The most horrific gem to come out of these experiments has finally formed after being lab grown

A rose quartz was being grown with the hopes of her sharing the same strength as the one that shattered pink diamond

Unfortunately that's not the case

This gem has sharp vicious teeth all over her body and teeth too big for her mouth causing any attempts at communication to become muffled

She has four arms though the one holding her gem is rendered useless as several teeth pierce right through it

One of her legs is abnormally long and also useless but she's managed to drag it behind her as she walks

She's also hostile

She was poofed but not before attacking and severely injuring one of the humans and brought into the containment centers

I don't believe she was hostile because she wanted to be

I can't imagine the things they're going to do to her

From my observations if these posts are actually free for the public eye to see then either the humans haven't found out or they simply don't care about what's being put out there

Regardless of what's actually happening I think I'm safe

No notes have been written today as I've been informed that these logs are not private as I had intended them to be

I'm not sure if the humans are aware or even keep track of my logs and I really don't want to think about the potential consequences of this getting out

More lapises have been made and they're looking nearly perfect however they don't seem to have control of their powers yet

None of them have able to manipulate water like a lapis should be able to and so far no one is quite sure why

Some humans have hypothesized that they weren't in proper growing conditions or that they were made too fast or too slow whatever that means

Though I have a hypothesis of my own

I believe these gems are lacking their powers because they weren't made in the same conditions as homeworld gems or perhaps it has something to do with the lack of the diamonds powers

The humans wish for my input so I will let them know of my knowledge on making gems

Not that I have a choice in the matter

The results of the pearls have been increasingly more satisfactory

The best pearl so far has been an orange pearl whose form is nearly perfect and her only flaw is the lack of a head

Her gem is located on her upper neck which prevents the formation of a proper head and without that I'm not sure what the humans will do to her

Most other pearls have had too many limbs or not enough as well as missing or extra features

Most of them are disturbing amalgamations of body parts which are then used for testing on how to reverse the effects

The others get shattered and forgotten

But I don't forget

Unrelated but it seems that my logs have been liked and reblogged and followed

Perhaps sometime in the future I'll learn what that means

Hopefully it's nothing I should be worried about
