“Well after that party, normal life just seems so BORING.” He let out a sigh, looking to the person currently sat beside him in the library. “Don’t you think so? Shouldn’t we do something to make it all a little more bearable?”
“--Well, what do you have in mind?”
rabastan always found great amusement in intoxicated people—he usually found them doing something they wouldn’t normally do and making complete fools of themselves. the morning after they felt invincible though was entertaining to him as well, especially those who didn’t drink regularly. the masquerade ball had definitely been an occasion for some to drink, and rab was watching the morning after effects. he put a hand to his mouth, trying to prevent himself from laughing at a younger year who clearly hadn’t received the memo the punch had been spiked. without even looking at the face of the person beside him, he leaned over slightly and nodded in the direction of the younger kid, “you think he’s alright?”
The sight of the hangover fourth year student in front of her, undoubtedly stops her from questioning her decision to skip the Ball. She was a responsible grown up, who happens to handle her liquor well. But, she wasn’t there for embarrassed herself in front of everyone Arlo if that ever happens to her. She shoved a small piece of her waffles, as she watched another friend of her looking rather in a gleeful laugh over such a sight.
“--He will survive. But only if you be a dear and take him to the infirmary.”

He sweetly smiled, displaying as much innocence as possible; he had gotten better with it over time and mentally crossed his fingers for this to work. Chester continued to chew on his own piece, smile widening when she reached for the gum. He hadn’t expected her to be that loud, but knew the zap was something if it was the first time. Being Chester, he played with this sort of thing all the time at home. Immediately he erupted in laughter. “What? What happened?”
Thalia pursed her lips, as she gives her sore hand a gentle rub. It wasn’t entirely her fault, she happens to be believed people easily, even if it’s Chester himself. But, she still couldn’t get over the fact that she ( once again ) completely fallen into his trap, two times in a row.
“--Don’t play coy with me, Chest. You know exactly what happened.”

“You’re joking, right? You can’t actually be convinced this dress is something DECENT? The occasion is my funeral.”
“--I wish I were. But at least, you’ve managed to make it look more decent.”
arlo-bell:
“Alright, sounds good. Is there any particular reason or is it just a day trip?”
At this point Thalia could have asked him to dive head first into the Black Lake and he would have done it without a second thought. He was in too deep now. Hogsmeade sounded like a great idea to him, why not get out for a while and chill out.
“--It’s kind of silly, actually.”
She blurted, a rather too quickly, as if she hadn’t managed to recover from her own surprise. Thalia doesn’t even know what to expect when she first told him where they were heading. This is a nice surprise, to say the least.
“--Well, I’m craving for the Honeydukes Chocolate for quite a while now. I don’t think I can wait until our next Hogsmeade weekend.”
“Hey, look…I just wanted to give a piece offering after…you know.“ Maybe he had pranked her again, which was just the type of relationship he had with Thalia. She had yet to get back at him, but that didn’t mean he had to wait to do it again. He held out the stick of gum with an innocent smile, chewing on a real piece he’d taken earlier for effect. What she didn’t know what that once she pulled for a piece, it’d zap her. Nothing harmful of course, just a little bit of fun.

This might be another a peace treaty after their usual prank war, or another scheme of his. Her first prank worked wonderfully, yet he manages to get back at her not long after she had launched a cauldron cake on top of his head, followed with another prank after. Thalia eyed him cautiously. She pursed her lips, as she decides to choose the latter and pull the piece of gum. It’s almost like a reflect when she pull her hand away as the wave of an electricity set through her fingers to her arm, along with a loud yelp escaping from her lips.

“Why would it be bad if you did?” He couldn’t see any cons to yes. Besides, if the three of them hung out, he’d be able to asses how Arlo was with Thalia. From what he knew, he wasn’t a bad guy. And if it made Thalia happy, he wanted to.
She had been dying to introduce Arlo to the people from her inner circle, regardless the fact that he may have known some of them ( hence her brother, of course ).
“--It’s always the two of us against the world ( and the professors ). I don’t want you to feel left out, Chest.”

“Absolutely. We can’t rest too much. Even after a win like we just had. We can always be better.” She mused. “OWLs aren’t as bad as everyone says. They’re bad but not that bad.”
“--Not as N.E.W.T.s’ bad? I beg to differ.”
Thalia winked before she finally burst into a laugh. She was lucky enough to have her brother and Arlo to help her with her studies. Although lately, her mind was on Quidditch more than her essays.
“I swear if you say a thing about this god AWFUL dress beyond a way to make it less straining on the eye, I won’t hesitate to hex you.”
“--I won’t. You looked pretty, Marls. But, what’s the occasion?”

“Don’t remind me of OWLs… I have to look forward to NEWTs. I think I may die. Thank godric for quidditch.”
“--Speaking of which, I was meant to ask whether we’re going to have another practice this week? I’ve been dying to distract myself from these whole O.W.L.s things.”

“The real question is are you sure you want him to tag along? Because there’s a high chance I’ll also embarrass myself, or you.” He teased; never would he actually do such a thing in front of someone she fancied. “I wouldn’t mind though. Another person means more magic.” And more magic meant a better chance of not getting crushed to death by the tree.
“--Is it bad if I say ‘yes’?”
Her lips curled into a smile. She wasn’t entire sure, whether she was joking or not. But, the idea of Arlo tagging along with them, sounds like an idea for her.

He sighed. “Don’t ever do that again but I’m sorry―I’ve been jumpy lately,” he murmured against her hair. “I’m sorry I was ACCUSING you of something. I just,” he paused, letting out another sigh as he leaned back, looking down at his baby sister’s eyes. “We need to talk about some things.”
“--You too. Don’t ever do that again.”
He is, indeed. Thalia can only wonder about things that bothers his mind. Perhaps, it’s got something to do with his duties or his N.E.W.T.s. But, her guts told her that it’s the otherwise, in fact, it’s nothing related to any of those. She pulled away from him, placed herself on the table not far from them.
“--What kind of things exactly?”

Why was she staring at him? Did he have something on his face? Crap, he probably had something on his face. His cheeks burned under her gaze and he felt that gut punch he always seemed to feel when he was around Thalia. He shifted awkwardly and rubbed at the back of his neck.
“Uhh yeah…But I have one question…Where are we going?”
“--Hogsmeade?”
Thalia murmured after a pause, upon recalling that she hadn’t told him yet. She was sound unsure, as if she was afraid he might change his mind. She cleared her throat and shifted on her feet as she eyed the empty corridor before them.

“Alright then… how’ve you been Thalia?”
“--I’ve been alright, Cap. Just all the boring stuffs, O.W.L.s preparations and occasionally sneaking myself to get involved in some mischief. How about you?”

He grinned, of course wanting to know more, but he also didn’t want to press for the details. He knew Thalia knew that he was here if she ever wanted to talk about anything, and his protective pants were definitely on now that he was aware. It was inevitable with all of his friends. “Oh! Well…if he does find out what we’re up to and wants to join, I don’t think that’d be a problem.”
While she wants to share everything to him about things between her and Arlo, she can’t. Not now, at least. Yet, Chester hadn’t forced her to spill anything.She might never admit this to him, but she always admires his patience.
“--Are you sure you want him to tag along? Because, there’s a chance.. I might embarrass myself in front of him.”

When she had closed the gap between them, any breath left in his lungs left and his heart came to -what he was certain- a complete halt. He could feel the heat from her breath against his skin and her voice seeping itself into his soul at this point. He was in awe. At this point, Thalia could have told him to take a leap head first into the Whomping Willow and Arlo was almost certain he would probably do it without question.
“Who would I tell?”
He spoke quietly between them, matching her volume while his head turned to allow his eyes to land on her features. As he noticed the smile, one of his own grew on his lips.
A chuckle slip from her lips at his attempt to match hers. Her gaze softened as they land on his face, momentarily lost herself within his dark eyes. Her eyes trailed to his jaw and down to his lips. She couldn’t help but wonder about the way they feels against hers. Her lips parted as she felt her cheek turned crimson at such a thought. She had to pull herself away from him, before she did anything embarrassing.
She simply offered him a shrug at his question.
“--Shall we go?”

Evan couldn’t help but flinch at the sudden movement, almost as if his body was expecting the girl to actually strike him in a way. He was too used to growing up holding his tongue for fear that he would get a lashing if he ever raised his voice. But at his sister’s apology, he relaxed. Without another thought, he stepped closer and wrapped his arms around the younger Rosier.
“I’m sorry too. I have little to no control around words I speak when enraged sometimes. Please forgive me Little Rosie.”
Thalia was surprised, to say the least, at how her brother flinches at a slight movement she made. Thus, when he wrapped his arms around her. She buried her head against his chest ( feeling the warmth coming from his embrace ) and flung her arms around his waist.
