"character deserved better" (but they were never going to get it that's the stuff great tragedies are made of) vs "character deserved better" (but the writers really blew it)
I don't think people tend to see that Pink Diamond was only ever really valued by people when she was Rose Quartz. The diamonds only really listened to her about earth when she was Rose. The friends she made as Rose saw her as, and treated her as, an equal, not someone to be feared or belittled. Pearl even admitted that in her fantasy Rose was just... Rose. Not Pink.
I feel like people misunderstand Ulfrics character, particularly with the “why can non-nords join the Stormcloaks.”
Ulfric is passively racist. He himself doesn’t have issue with non-nords(hence why they csn join). However, her certainly doesn’t stop others within his faction be racist, nor does he do anything about the pervasive racism within Windhelm, and given how his goal with the war begins and ends with Skyrims cessation from the Empire, he’s not planning on fixing it any time soon.
Another thing to add onto this, and something people misunderstand about the stormcloaks; the racism isn’t the end goal. Thats th cession of Skyrim from the empire. In fact post civil war, in stormcloak victory, skyrim doesn’t become any more racist or nord centric than it already was.
Thing is, Ulftic still utilizes a lot of Nationalistic retort when it comes to drumming up support.(Skyrim belongs to the nords and all that jazz) As such, racism was bound to proifilate in the rebellion, and since it garners him support, he has no reason not to continue it.
cell phone doesn't like water because it is a combination of the other three elements. it is a rock (earth) that we fill with lightning (fire) that can control radio waves (air). if it contained water too, it would be too perfect; it would be like a god. to prevent this, the universe kills the would be uniter-of-the-elements. it's basic science.

Mermay 2025 Day 22 - Yamagishi Fuuka
Hiiiiiiii. I still have some merms left for this year and I am just about done with them. So here is Fuuka! She's a jellyfish because I felt like that fit herself and her persona well

Deadly infections with what has become known as "hatemold" (Jacare rowlii) are on the rise this year. This parasitic black mold is thought to be attracted to individuals who fill their life with hatred towards their fellow humans, weakening their immune system. It has been known to affect people in the TERF community, among other bigots.
“I’m not a real person” is such a meta line. Because Rose/Pink is dead, and therefore only exists in the memory of those that knew her. Which in turn leads to the audience getting to see a whole bunch of contradictory versions of her.
there’s Rose the saintly leader, Rose loving but goofy wife and mother, Rose the evil rebel, Rose the traitorous and lying friend, Pink the perfect diamond, Pink the spoiled brat, Pink the scared child, Pink the selfish monster, Pink the ungrateful playmate, Pink the wifebeater
The “Real” Rose/Pink, perhaps lies somewhere in the middle. But for Steven, the audience, and the rest of the cast, we’ll never know. The truth is shrouded in fog…

From the media that brought you "Millennials are killing [insert industry here]" articles for years and years and years, now we have....
"Hey, Gen Z, we're gonna relabel vacations into something else now and tell you how you really should be wary of taking vacation because it might impact your financial future."
This is a goddamn dystopia, we know this, right?
You gotta understand that some people never really grow. They never learn their lesson. They never recognise their mistakes, they never acknowledge their faults, they never admit they were in the wrong. You will never receive an apology from them, and you will never see their behaviour change.
if you’re in the notes saying “this is wrong and cruel because everyone is capable of growth” you’re not understanding the post.
yes, everyone is CAPABLE of growth and change. everyone has the RIGHT to growth and change. but no, not everyone will CHOOSE growth and change. some people are not interested in and cannot be made interested in self-improvement or self-reflection. some people will go their entire lives refusing to admit they might be wrong or examine their own behaviors. some people will never, ever accept responsibility for the effects they have on people and the world around them. humans are varied; some are just always gonna be like this.
it is VITAL to understand this if you’re the kind of person who tends to pour energy into helping others, especially if there are already people knowingly hurting you who consistently show absolutely no interest in changing that behavior. you can’t forcibly make them want to change who they are. you aren’t going to find a way to convince them to suddenly care that their behavior is hurting someone.
the motivation to change and grow comes from within. others may inspire us, but WE have to decide we want to be better and work towards that. until they decide that for themselves, nobody else can do it for them. and they might never. people are mortal. we are a finite series of choices. it is entirely possible to make mostly selfish ones.
everyone CAN grow, but not everyone will. not everyone wants to, and nobody can force the desire to grow as a person on someone else.
sometimes people on here talk about "accountability" in a way that shows they think that the person they've decided is in the wrong can't actually do anything to redeem themselves other than like. suicide.
Things Accountability IS:
Apologising for the harm that you've caused.
Trying to change your behaviour.
Accepting that not everyone will forgive you and they don't have to.
Things Accountability ISN'T:
Wallowing in your guilt until you think of yourself as nothing but bad.
Accepting an overly distressing punishment for your actions.
Twisting yourself into knots to make sure everyone knows how disgusted you are by yourself.
Other people can't move on if you never do.
