"Are you saying hey to me? Hi."
"Yeah well you were kinda staring so I thought why not."
"Hey."
Looks At The Nurse As She Hooks Me Back Up To The Ventilator And Heart Monitor And As She Leaves Whispers.He Told Me That’s Why I Was Worried About You Eff.
"Well it doesn't matter now, what matters is that you're okay. And you better stay that way or I'll bring you back to life and kill you myself" she breathed out, brushing the hair out his face.
Whispers Gasping For Air. I Had To Check On You Eff When I Heard A Couple Nurses Talking About You I Had To See You. I Was Worried Eff.
"I'm fine, Tons, I just fell, so they wanted to keep me in overnight. You shouldn't be out of bed you dick" she sighed, looking up at him with worry. Effy called for a nurse to come hook him back up to his machines as she helped him back in his bed. "Let's just worry about you, ok? You really scared me I thought.. Well let's just say I'm going to slap the shit out of Sid."
Hears A Couple Of The Nurses Talking About Eff So I Unhook The Ventilator And Heart Monitor I Know I Should Still Be Hook Up And I Shouldn’t Unhook The Stuff. But I Was Worried Cuz No One Had Told Me If My Little Sister Was Ok Or Not And I Had To See Her So I Snuck To See Her. Sitting By Her Bed I Grab Her Hand And Whisper. Eff I’m Here.
Sits There Having Trouble Breaking But Holds Her Hand Never The Less.
Effy blinked her eyes open, widening them and shooting up from her bed. "Tony, what are you doing! You shouldn't be out of bed!" she sighed and jumped up, looping her arm around him. "Come on."
Effy was laying down in her hospital bed, eyes closed, though she wasn't asleep. After her incident with the bridge, they wanted to keep her in overnight. Though her mind was mentally preparing for the bitch slap she was going to give Sid, she was happy to find out Tony is still alive.
It’s not about the destination. It’s about the journey.

Saving A Life || Dean & Effy
A very faint but reassuring smile appeared on Dean’s lips as he nodded to the girl standing before him. “Yes, I do. I promise.” He could tell how hard this was for her. She just seemed so fragile, like she could collapse at any given moment. He pulled her into a brief hug before pulling away and looking over at his car. He chuckled a bit at her apology. “It’s been through worse,” he said, thinking back to the few times he’s had to basically put it back together completely. He walked with her into the hospital and walked over to the front desk. “Hi, my friend needs to get checked out. And I mean right now. She just plummeted from a bridge and nearly drowned to death. She seems pretty fine, but we need to make sure. Make it as quick as possible, and I’m not kiddin’. I’m talkin’, twenty minutes or so. If not, we’re just leavin’ anyways,” he said sternly, determined to not break his promise.
Both Effy and the nurse at the desk stared at Dean in disbelief. "Elizabeth Stonem... My records will be under that name and I'm fine, so take as long as you need" she smiled at her before looking back at Dean. "You're bossy" she smiled faintly. Stonem, I'm sure we have another Stonem in our care -- Tony. Her smile fell and she turned pale again. "My brother died a few hours ago... Slap up job you did saving his life, huh?" she sighed and walked away from the counter.
He lit himself one and took a long drag.
"What?"
"I've never been one to show emotion, but I want you to know that I'm sorry. I fucked up big time letting you go, paid with the price of my sanity -- But yeah, just.. Sorry, you deserved so much better than what I did to you, Cook."
Saving A Life || Dean & Effy
Dean licked his lips and nodded at her statement. He knew she was right, which is exactly why he wasn’t planning on giving up on Sam. He could never do that. It just wasn’t even an option. Once he got the girl out of the car, he could tell she suddenly began to look sick. That’s how he knew that her next statement was a lie. “C’mon, it’s better safe than sorry. Just let them check you out, then I can take you home. I promise, it’ll be fine. I’ll walk in with you and everything. I can’t just leave now. I’m not going anywhere until I know for a fact that you’re going to be okay, so we can keep standing out here and wasting time, or we can get it over with. It’s your choice,” he said, looking down at her.
Effy swallowed harshly, taking a look down before looking back up and nodding. "You promise?" she whispered. Every inch of her hated showing emotion, or being fragile, but she couldn't help it... Her thoughts just swarmed with bad things. Tony. She should of been there. He must of been so scared. "Sorry about your car" she said, realizing the seats must now be soaking. After a deep breath, she put one foot in front of the other and started walking into the hospital.
Saving A Life || Dean & Effy
Dean listened closely to her words. He felt his throat get tight, because he could relate to her, much more than she knew. He never really talked about this to anyone, but he felt like her could tell her, because she got him. She would understand. “I do.. I have a brother. A younger brother. Sammy,” he said, a small smile playing at his lips. He then stopped and his face went back to looking blank. “I know what you’re going through. Probably more than anyone else you’d ever talk to. All I was ever told was ‘look out for Sammy’ and ‘keep Sam safe’. He was my constant. Even when I had no one else, my brother was there, you know? He was my family. Especially after my dad died.. He was the only family I had left, that I knew of. I was the one who went and got my brother from school. He was going to college, had himself a girl.. I sometimes feel like I messed it all up for him. But, even if I hadn’t things would have happened much worse, but I can’t help but to have that regret.. the constant nagging in the back of my mind that I’m the one who ruined that kid’s life. I’ve had to watch him die.. He died in my arms once. He came back, but it’s still hard thinking about it. I couldn’t cope with anything. I lashed out on anyone, and it wasn’t their fault. After a while, I noticed him change. He’s just getting so tired of even carrying on. It’s the worst feeling in the world, because I can’t let him give up. I don’t know what I’d do without him. I’ve tried before, but it didn’t last long. So I get it. It’s the worse feeling in the world when you lose the only thing you live for,” he said, glancing over at her for a moment before he forced himself to stop thinking about it and cleared his throat. “Anyways, we’re here,” he said, taking the key out of the ignition and getting out of the car, walking around to the passenger side and opening the door for her. “Want me to help you go in?”
Effy quietened down, looking out the window but listening carefully to every word he was saying. It was like she could hear the pain and truth in his voice, it both warmed her and broke her heart at the same time. This guy could understand her pain, and she hated it... Because no one should have to feel a pain like it. To most of the world, Effy was always the misfit... That stupid airhead who was going nowhere with her life, but the truth? Effy is beyond intelligent, she psycho-analyses the world around her perfectly with only one glance. Reads people and almost sees straight into their soul... She could feel that Dean was giving her riddles, but it hardly mattered, it wasn't her place to pry, and she would never push him into talking. It was just nice to know that someone understood. "Wanting to give up is like surrendering your gun in the middle of a bloody battle field. It signifies that someone is tired of fighting, but that's not all... It just means they're looking for a reason and a purpose to continue. So don't give up on him, because he will pull through it with your help. And after you've just saved my life... Looks like I owe you one, so if you ever need someone to vent to..." she shrugged. Effy climbed out, a small sick feeling in her stomach and her face turned pale. Tony. Tony died here. Right in this hospital. "You know.. I'm feeling much better -- I don't need to be checked over, it was just a little water" she nodded, though her gaze didn't break from the hospital doors.
Saving A Life || Dean & Effy
"Effy Stonem?" It took Dean a moment, and then he remembered her. She was the girl he had ran into a while back. He went to the bar with her and everything. Why the hell didn’t he remember.. And Stonem.. So she was Tony’s younger sister. The girl he had been so worried about when Dean had visited him. It all made since now. He put the pieces together. "You’re his sister…" he whispered, more to himself than anything. Once he got to his car he helped her into the passenger seat before he got into the driver’s side and took off in the direction of the hospital. He looked over at her for a split second before he put his attention back on the road. He then continued to drive until the two of them reached the hospital.
"The one and only" she nodded. It was almost strange for her not to fight against going to the hospital, but honestly she just had no energy. "Yeah... And he was my brother" she whispered back blankly. It was almost like her heart had been replaced with this empty hole, like nothing mattered at all. Not without Tony. When they drove, she winced slightly, the feel of the seat rubbing against her back hurt, but she wasn't all that bothered. "Do you have a brother, Dean? Or a sister? Someone who you can't possibly picture your life without? ... They're supposed to be the constant. The one thing that will always be there... The one person that keeps you in check" she mumbled, bringing her knees up to her chest. "I told you I lost my mind before. I wasn't kiddin' either. Tony become my anchor for sanity... For control. I don't like feelin' lost. It fuckin' sucks, you know? But that's what I am without him... Completely lost. He only come back here because I did. Does that make what happened my fault? It does. Of course it does. I fuck everything up. I break everyone. Everything I touch... I turn it all to shit because that's just me. Can't help it. I just... Destroy. Maybe it's what I'm built for" she was whispering, kind of talking to herself more than she was Dean.
He stared at her for a while, not doing anything but shortly after he got up and followed her. “Course.”
Effy walked outside and sat down, sparking up the joint. "You wanna know somethin', Cook?"
