Hear me out what if the “thing in the corner” that told us the monologue also created the reality that Andrew and Ivan live in like this story’s fictional god. It says it exists by having people “observe it” or think about it. It also says it’s the walls and the ground and it’s mostly made up of code “Text displays on a screen trying to convince you it is a person and not merely code” and it says how it could’ve told you from the start but there wouldn’t be any mystery. Why would it be able to tell you if it supposedly lived under the game and was merely an observer? Why would it still exist if there was zero mention of it ever being there until the badge was created? Why make a monologue about code and machinery when you knew from the beginning this was a game and nothing was real anyway? Unless it made everything in the first place. Think of when it said it was the walls and floors and how merely reading its text or making a voice for it gave it enough observation to exist. Just like how in the bible god supposedly made humanity as an image of himself even though their no where close to how he is mentally or physically the thing created Ivan, Andrew, and everything else out of its own code that was giving it it’s existence through observation. Even if you don’t know the creator you always think about them and wonder what influenced them to make such a good story and all the questions you’d ask them about it. The thing even tells us that “this world beneath a game I had to build. I had to make myself” and you could argue that it’s specifies “beneath” a game and not the game itself but I’d say it’s mentioning as a game in Roblox itself. After all Roblox itself is technically a game and every other game developed in it is something you have to find beneath Roblox. And so it realized that if it wanted to survive here it was gonna have to labor building a whole world and fighting for it to succeed so that in some way it would be thought about and therefore exist. However games need constant content and fan interaction to keep it alive. So it created the clairvoyance badge to ensure that it’ll forever be kept alive and that it’ll be years before anyone can forget about it because as it said. Once you hear about something you originally weren’t supposed to hear it never leaves your brain. Hell it makes me think of how Ivan and Andrew would react to the information that their lives were fabricated and built for one beings benefit.
i dont think this is a question but im gonna respond to it anyways because i like it when someone talks about clairvoyance and isnt a part of the 12 usual guys who are obsessed with it
nothing against those guys by the way
would ivan have bpd and are you fine with it being headcanon or have you never thought about thar
pretty early on i actually briefly considered having ivan have bpd or something similar but i decided against it cause it doesnt really interact well with the other themes of the game. also it gives people an out by saying "oh, i couldnt be like ivan, i dont have bpd"
you can headcanon him as whatever but dont analyze his actions through it cause it just kinda muddles his actual motivations. or do i guess im not a cop
why 406
cause he lives in the 6th apartment on the 4th floor i guess
are you homopobic perchance
yes!! i am. "bad things" refers to HOMOSEXUAL RELATIONSHIPS.
what were some scene concepts that didn't make it into the game?
scene 13 was originally planned to be a very long autopsy of andrew's dead body.
i was also on the fence between scene 9 being about a cabin in a snowstorm that you need to destroy or the ship thats seen in the final game
Im a really big fan of ivan i have like 12 drawings of ivan in my room and 2 posters (sorry if is not a question :(()
ok
how do you feel about yumeshipping and fiction kins or sum thing like that, i’m neither of those but like im js curious
honestly i think fictionkins are a little silly but its obvious that both of them are kinda coping mechanisms so if you dont make it my business then do what you want.
really though my opinion on this doesnt mean shit cause i never interfaced personally with either
TW/CW FOR SH TOPICS
Did Andrew ever have sh problems? Cuz during the roof scene he said that he used to pick fights with people bigger than him so that it would “hurt more” it makes me wonder if that hinted to him just wanting to hurt himself like that in general
getting people to fight him was his method for self harm. there was an unused song for scene 14 called relapse
I've been thinking a lot about Ivan and Andrew's color choices lately... SO NOW YOU'RE GONNA LISTEN TO MY RAMBLING.
(color theory lectures oh no)
thank you for making me seem really smart
Everytime I replay bad things Ivan’s IQ drops by like a flat ten points how did you manage to make a character so……………… UnAware
he's not unaware he just doesnt try to change
newbie dev here! what is your advice for not losing motivation to work on a game (or any project for that matter)?
pick an idea that you really like and see yourself having a good time making. also be very realistic about expectations and stuff and be conscious of scope creep.
finally if you truly dread the idea of continuing work on a project youre allowed to not continue
How do you feel about people making chatbots of Ivan and Andrew on poly ai and stuff
im not very aware of this, thankfully, but yeah its bad. you could probably guess that i think making those is not good and i dont like it.
i also think that talking to these bots are bad, regardless of if theyre my characters or not. corporation controlled sycophants are not the solution to loneliness for anyone
how did you like the backrooms movie
it was very very good
are we getting more clairvoyance content next update?! i like it a lot
if i do not split the next update into two then yes you are getting a lot of content
why make andrew have romantic feelings for ivan even though the internet is famous for misinterpreting character intentions and throwing everything out for ships. wouldnt that just increase the likelihood of horrible misinterpretation of the characters
i made bad things just cause i wanted to make it. how the internet would react to it mattered very little to me when plotting out the story.
i also wanted to make a game i would be hurt by so i made it bitter whenever i had the chance.
Are you okay
yeah im pretty good
