statuesque in a never moving static when no force laid upon
she stands under an umbrella the sun squirting heat into everything
the lemonade the dew drop on her top lip just a sip
and a summer gets singed into something

her back's bent i'm spent the lost lament and some five fingers look to find your five dollars wet hair on a hot afternoon dug down

Here Years Are Seconds
"I think I've had enough to scribble lines," he thought.
The fan dutiful, air roiled about him cool in the early autumn wrinkle. LIttle wavelettes circling his torsoe. He imagined it was probably cooler outside as the plug clicked into the socket on his neck.
Blue and white and the leaning adobe shack he was in, full of empty bottles and discarded amp ampules, it all disappeared.
A 'brow-wow' assaulted his eardrums. A sucking sound and a moment of panic. Then lines and shapes settled in around him. He was in the Tunnel, he could see.
An hour passed. Water came to mind.
He began to think the meeting wasn't going to happen. But that was almost alright, the Tunnel burned with a million imprints in a billion forms.
Lost
Like sand it ran across the windscreen. Sparking as it hit, bounding into new trajectories. Thousands of them, every second, gold and red and electric each one.
"Make for light now, Sari," Gote hollered into the comm system. No reply. Flames erupted, an explosion of numbers. The vacuum beyond whispered to him. Gote dropped into transit mode. "Dumb bitch," he grunted. Her hologram began to burn. His anger burst and he pulled the plug quick, thousands of credits pouring into the wake of his datadrop. "Wax, all wax," he muttered.
Gote made for the hard source east pass before the node went hot, passcrackers lighting like bottlerockets. She glimmered before him a second as transit was granted. "How do you plan to escape us, traveller? We who built you?"
Black like a vacuum tore into everything. A night and a swoon.
"The inevitable is now," the voice strained, robotic.
Her image bent. The tongue, twisted.
He knew they'd continue, maybe even find him. No matter how easy it was for him to get lost. The node accepted him. Light flashed. He was somewhere else, someone else, time was his friend again. Gote pulled the jacks from his head. He was in the room again, dark and humid. He was man again, far away from the electric teeth he wanted nothing more than to shatter.
Raindrops. A storm. Maybe today.

I want to say, I've been thinking about this too much. And what I've come up with is that it's all okay. We are all, every last one, gonna make it out. None of us are gonna do it alive, but, ya know what? We'll get there.
