We Make Our Stand

I, am Ultra Magnus, current Second in Command of Optimus Prime. Upon arriving on Earth I found myself not only reunited with past acquaintances, but those of my previous team as well. I assumed command of Team Prime and we took our stand against those that wished to harm the native of this planet. When all seemed lost, Optimus Prime made his reappearance and helped us succeed in our battle. Although we are meeting many barriers, it would seem that those I have reunited with upon this planet are making the best of what they have. I feel it is only a matter of time before we succeed in our goal, or perhaps that is merely a reignited hope.

I'm not mad either, as I stated before I'm frustrated. It isn't that you're questioning my knowledge, but rather the fact that you lack any sort of respect towards those containing higher authority.

Allow me to state that, one, I am not considered ‘sweet’, and two, I am not a ‘thing’. Taking as I am ‘new’ to the multiverse, hopefully there should be no reason to know who you are and I can already tell you are vastly different from the Jetfire I have met in the past.

"Right as rain, I assure you." Pipes replies, grateful for his mask—his face is doing all sorts of contortions underneath to hide his attempt to keep from bursting out laughing. He relents a little, adding in a considerably less obviously-trying-not-to-laugh tone, “Boy, you gotta love those anonymous guys, though. Better get used to ‘em."

Magnus blinks at the words that follow the other's change of tone before his lips press into a thinner line. "I would prefer not to." He retorts simply,

"As I of yours. However, past conversations have lead me to believe that you were deceased, Hardshell. Although such matters are not important at this time, I do suppose. If you begin a fight, I assure you I will not go down easy, nor is it likely that I shall allow you to walk away functioning."

Deceased? You cannot kill someone like me so easily, Wrecker. I am the strongest of my Hivemates! I thrill in hunting your kind. Do you see all these marks? They are of each Wrecker I have beaten in battle. Allow me to add one for you as well.

"Merely three?" he responds, unamused at the large beast before him as his gaze follows the lines across the other's chest. "Or more? Because I'm afraid your lines are rather sporadically and if counting each one. Well, I'm not even sure we had that many wreckers."

He doesn't allow the other to get him rilled up, he knew how many had offlined. And it was part of this war.

He'd gotten over it a long time ago.

He doesn't move into a defensive stance, however, he does allow his remaining servo to shift into his weapon. "From what I hear, a simple native's took down a whole flock of you, do you honestly wish to fight, Insecticon?"

"Oh! Uh, sure." Pipes is a little taken aback by the taciturn nature of the response. This fellow’s dry mannerisms remind Pipes of someone… “I’m Pipes, an Autobot." He stretches slightly, angling the vid-cam down to rest briefly on the red badge on his chest. Pipes’s frame is in a sorry state of repair, scuffed, dented, and in places just plain gashed, but he is not seriously hurt, but rather just scruffy. He snaps it back up to his masked face after proving his allegiance. 

"As for not appearing in your database, I’m guessing that’s probably because we’re not from the same dimension. You’ve got this look, I’ve seen it on a few other mechs. The whole ‘no nose’ thing and all." Pipes is unsure how informed this stern fellow is. Hopefully his explanation won’t be dismissed outright. “Now you’ve got me at a disadvantage, though," he concludes, gently prompting Ultra Magnus to introduce himself.

Ultra Magnus blinks as the perspective on his screen suddenly shifts and he can’t help but raise an optic ridge at the mech’s rather..damaged state. But he doesn’t question it, instead making a mental note to add the whole conversation to a file later, his main question answered. 

Well, until the other continued to speak. He couldn’t help the minor look of surprise; that optic ridge raising once more and blue gaze bright in confusion and curiosity. He mulls over the words of Pipes, trying to figure out their exact meaning and he only briefly stops them in favor of the other’s prompting.

"Ultra Magnus," he responds, not missing a beat, “Second in Command to Optimus Prime." Now that he was done with that, he moved forward in the conversation (of course allowing a brief moment for any questions). “As for this- nose thing of yours, one of which I do not exactly understand, may I question you on what you mean by me not… ‘being from the same dimension’?"

Pipes perks up when the mech introduces himself. This is the first time he can recall meeting another Ultra Magnus… and aside from that, he’s finally pinned down who this stern mech reminds him of (Ultra Magnus, of course). Under his mask he grins broadly to himself. “Well, I’ll be fragged sideways. I should’ve known, heh!" 

The smile fades when his conversational partner continues. “Oh, nobody’s told you. Well, I’m no scientist, but I’ll do my best. Okay, the short version is this: there’s a lot of alternate universes out there, and apparently we’re all coming into contact with one another. I’m from a different dimension than you. There’s still a Cybertron, still an Earth, still Autobots and Decepticons—there’s even an Ultra Magnus in my dimension—but each dimension is a little bit different. The comm net we’re talking on seems to span all of them." 

He slides up his visor and retracts his mask with a snck. Pipes is a plain-looking fellow, his face primarily distinguishable by wide red optics and a hooked nose, the latter of which he taps. "This is a nose. Most mechs from my dimension have them." He cocks his head, his now-visible face adopting an expression that mingles attentiveness with sympathy. “Still with me? I know it’s a lot to take in all at once."

He'd frowned at first, I'll be fragged sideways seeming to echo in his processor a moment before the other begins to explain. To say the least, Ultra Magnus was surprised, more confused than anything.

Surely Pipes couldn't be serious, right? "Erm.." he releases at the question, his back straightening up just the slightest bit in a subconscious way of trying to look more confident. "..Well, that would explain your..vulgar exclamation when learning my designation." He retorts slowly, blue gaze brightening at the mech, "However, I'm afraid that doesn't' seem possible, at all. That does not make sense."

Magnus had been a bit surprised when the signal was not only tracked, but someone had picked up the other line as well. For a moment or two the commander stares down at the image, an optic ridge slightly raised and mouth into a thin line. 

As the other speaks he can’t help but frown, taking in the rather Decepticon profile that really didn’t match up with the signal’s tone and greeting. “Hello," he retorts after a moment or two, trying to look for any profiles he possessed that would match up with the one he was currently seeing on the screen aboard his ship. “I am afraid you can," he states in response, knowing he couldn’t really jump to conclusions on mere appearances alone. “Your signal hit my scanners, I desire to mark you down in the databases due to the fact that you do not appear in them." That fact itself was odd for Ultra Magnus, usually there was always something he’d read on those of the Autobot faction, but then again, everything hadn’t exactly been marked down towards the upcoming of the Exodus.

"I request your designation and faction, if such information can be released."
