Iāve seen at least one person saying Add wouldnāt be good with Laby because he has no patience for childlike personalities and I have to say that I do kinda understand where that perspective would come from. He doesnāt really get along well with Elsword or Aisha, both of whom can be pretty childish. And he tends to flip flop with Lu, sometimes he gets along with her sometimes he doesnāt. But when I took a closer look at him and paid specific attention to the way he treats other characters like Toma, Allegro, Yuno or even Chung and Ara, I noticed aā¦ kind of patience with him. Iām not gonna straight up call it patience because itās clear he has literally no idea what heās doing when it comes to them and he can get stressy and snappy. But when Toma wants to get on the airship in Bethma, Add tells him pretty firmly actually that thatās not a place for kids and that Toma isnāt coming. That in its essence is protective, because before that Add is more tolerant of Toma than almost every other character up until that point. Heās pretty chill listening to Toma chatter on about weapons despite the clear lack of interest there for him. In Feita Add is actually super sweet and almost friendly with Allegro, while at the same time you only see a slim amount of respect for Lento and the other soldiers in Feita. To be fair, we actually donāt see Add interact much with Chung or Ara but there is an end of dungeon dialogue forā¦ collapsing temple of fire I think??? Ara straight up trips into Add but in Addās end of dungeon dialogue thereās no mention of it. I feel like if he actually was angry with her or even annoyed with her about it, his dialogue wouldāve mentioned it. Addās ābig momentā with Chung is in Atlas where Chung starts to get excited and curious about Nasod technology and Add starts telling him about it and explaining it to him (and Lu if I remember correctly). Speaking of Atlas, Add is mercifully tolerant of Yuno, considering other ways weāve seen him respond to constant requests tha keep changing. He straight up considered torturing merchants in Elder. Like he doesnāt usually take it well, but with Yuno the most he did was complain and roll his eyes.
The problem with Elsword is Add is still mad at him for destroying Altera Core. That much is in Addās trivia on the wiki. Another thing about Elsword is, unlike other childlike personalities, including Laby, for Elsword itās a choice. Elsword is choosing to continue trusting the world and seeing good in everyone even when it gets him hurt. Thatās one of my favorite things about Elsword, but itās also something Add despises, partially because he doesnāt understand why someone would continually choose to be hurt and partially, likely, because Add is jealous. Elsword gets to choose to keep trusting when Add didnāt get that choice.
The problem with Aisha is sheās too much like Add. Both of them have haughty, āI know betterā kinds of personalities/outlooks. They both believe that because of their expansive knowledge on a specific subject, whether it be technology or magic, they are superior, especially compared to those with knowledge of the other subject. Thatās a recipe for disaster tbh.
Add flip flops with Lu because at first he made fun of her. And of course Lu doesnāt appreciate being made fun of. She is a queen after all. Thatās specifically because she has a similar haughty attitude to his but sheās TINY. And to him being small is the same as being weak. Before he actually got to know her, she was all talk with no bite. She of course proved she could bite his head clean off if she wanted to and as the story progresses the two of them get along better and better. Even to the point that she praises him in Elysion. And, having played Lu/Ciel to Elysion, Lu does NOT give praise often.
Basically, I think Add would actually be very good with Laby. I doubt he would be particularly responsible with her on a normal day to day basis, but when push comes to shove he can put his foot down and make sure she doesnāt get in over her head. Heās a good shitty irresponsible older brother.
