The Bloody Baron Ghost of the Slytherin House. 

Born into nobility. Attending Hogwarts in the time of the Founders, was (obviously) sorted into Slytherin.  Later in life he fell in love with Helena Ravenclaw, unfortunately she didn’t love him. Helena stole her mother’s (Rowena) diadem and fled to Romania. When Rowena fell fatally ill sometime in the 11th century, she called on the Baron to bring Helena back to see her one last time. Helena refused to come back with him and The Baron killed her in rage. When he realised what he had done he committed suicide using the same knife as he had used to kill Helena. He is still covered in Helena’s blood, hence the nickname The Bloody Baron.  He is also the only one, except Dumbledore, who is able to control Peeves.
