I want a Bryce Antagonist in a SK show at some point so badly ( mainly because Bryce singing a Villain Song would slap, I've heard her cover of Cruella de Vile it's awesome). Unfortunatley imagining a Bryce Charles villain also means imagining the Misogynoir that charcater would receive from the fans..

#people are already weird about the female hf villains and Charles and Solomon (antagonists played by Black men. Charles is more of a villai #bc Solomon does have negative feelings about making a deal with the Lords but it still counts)#I don't want to imagine how they'd treat an antagonist who's a Black Woman #<- prev tags

If you're going to make an AU based on a movie about how men feel entitled to relationships with women, maybe DON'T put a female character in the place of the Misogynistic Male Protagonist and a male character in the place of the woman who's life ended up ruined and her autonomy taken from her because of him.

Also remembered that in that same AU had Emma as Ian (and I think Bill as Sara but I might be misremembering). And it's like. Emma was estentially told Paul was cheating on her. Bill assumed Paul was lying to Melissa because he hadn't seen Paul to tell him otherwise (and yeah maybe he could have been more concerned for Paul and arguably he was slightly flanderized in the episode, but it's still not really the same case as Ian and Sarah). The whole thing with Ian and Sarah is that they SAW Nikki wasn't acting like herself at all and ther concerns were for Bear and not her.

#also prev tags I didn't know that the Max! Bear and Grace! Nikki Obsession AU was made by a shipper my bad #yeah I think Gabe as Bear and Grace as Nikki would fit better then #Anyways back to the reblog I just put.#Really really don't like that AU the more I think about it #Just because Melissa and Bear both like someone they work with and are evil doesn't make them at all comparable #Melissa's story is about how she is abused by men and how she inflicts that abuse back onto them #And she's meant to be an exaggerated character. More likely to exist than the Eldrich Beings sure #But that doesn't mean she's meant to be realistic #what makes Bear so awful is that he's a completely normal man #he could be literally any guy. men like him who feel entitled to women's bodies #very much exist. they just don't have access to one wish willows #<- prev tags #oh it's no problem like i said idr do i could be wrong (plus there are 2 aus like that so we could technically both be right lol)#and like i said i just personally think gabe would be better cuz i feel bear betraying her trust is a very important part of the horror #and with max that trust just doesn't exist #ALSO EXACTLY #if anything bear is the type of man melissa targets! he is very much a dirty dog #and tbh that's what i mean with 'how can you miss the point that badly' cuz they seem to view it as just another yandere story #as opposed to being about misogyny

#tbh i feel like if you're going to make an obsession au for hatchetfield there's only 2 ways i can think to do it #gabe as bear and grace as nikki #(i see a lot of max and grace ones but like i feel the horror comes partially from the fact nikki trusted bear)#(plus the bear!max and nikki!grace ones were made by jagertity fans iirc? which? feels off? idk maybe that's just me)#or paul as bear and emma as nikki #(which works best imo paul has that same entitlement and close relationship that bear has and emma is just generally petty similar to nikki #but i'm no expert cuz i haven't watched the movie all i know is what my friend told me (in fact bear!paul and nikki!emma was her idea)
