I keep getting asks like: What can we do in this age verfication situation, and I'm scared type of asks. 🌐⭐️

I have made a lot of posts about what you can do in this situation to fight back on my blog and what to do if these laws get pass where you live. If you scroll down enough, you will find those posts.

We also have A LOT of people and organizations fighting against these evil politicians. They are growing every day, and more people are becoming aware.

PROTEST, PETITIONS, POLITICIANS (keep contacting them). The three P's are very important to do and to keep up!

What the most important part to do in this situation is NEVER lose hope or fear this. If you do that, you give your government/politicians the power in this situation. DO NOT GIVE THEM THAT POWER! That is what they want so you give up when things look bleak!

We can't ever be certain what will happen in the future ,but when you fear and have no hope/faith, nothing gets done! Keep going and keep fighting!!! 🫂💕🌐⚔️

⭐️🇺🇸YES ABSOLUTELY! 🇺🇸⭐️

The three P's are very important! Politicians (Call them), Petitions, and Protesting! Even after the law has passed.

People in California are fighting back against theirs through litigation! IT IS WORKING! They are going through the legal process to get the law repealed! People who live in Illinois, YOU NEED TO FIGHT BACK AND DO THE SAME!

I dont think these dumb politicians realize that it would be nearly impossible to age gate a whole operating system. Especially with things like linux that could just bypass the age gate.

Also, most manufacturers wouldn't even have the capacity to do that. It is very difficult and costly, I hear.

You could also get a VPN to bypass the age gate if it happens! Make sure it's legitimate if you are gonna go that route!

To you all thinking, this will only affect people in that state like Illinois or California. IT WILL NOT! THIS WILL AFFECT YOU ALL! Manufacturers RARELY ever put things in place for a specific group of people. They have an all at once treatment. That means users outside of these states will be affected if put into place!

May 26, 2026 After public outrage, California lawmakers are moving closer to exempting open-source operating systems from the sweeping age-bracketing regime mandated by last year’s Digital Age Assurance Act (AB 1043). Nonetheless, the current bill still jeopardizes internet users’ speech, privacy, and security. While the open source exemption, if passed, would improve the law, the remaining amendments proposed by AB 1856 would require all web browsers and websites to request and collect users’ ages. This is an expansion of last year's AB 1043's age-bracketing system that compounds its constitutional harms to users’ speech, privacy, and security. As AB 1856 moves on to the Senate, EFF will continue fighting for amendments that reduce those harms.

PSA that if anyone is scaring you with an account suspension or restriction and are asking you to follow a link to resolve the issue, DO NOT CLICK ON IT. Do not paste it on your web browser. Absolutely do not believe them. These are 100% a scam. Real suspensions will just happen. You will immediately temporarily lose access to your account or have features like DMs restricted without notice.

Also a PSA to always be careful with 🏴‍☠️. Research thoroughly on how to do it properly (use adblockers, only enter community trusted websites, etc). A lot of malwares can infect you just from random popups that you accidentally click on. DO NOT perform fake captchas that are asking you to paste something on your computer.

Do not believe "friends" who are asking you to download a game they just made. They are likely hacked and that's just another guy spreading the virus. There are too many folks recently who got hit by infostealer viruses that record all your passwords and 2FA tokens because they unknowingly downloaded the virus posing as free games/cracked software/cheats/mods. If you're really desperate, find communities who can safely check for you if the link you were provided is suspicious.

Finally, a PSA to full scan all your devices right now with an antivirus, just in case. If you believe you've clicked something malicious recently, pull up a device you know is 100% clean and change all your passwords there while forcibly signing out all other devices.

You will fill out your information like normal - For Agency/Org and Title - You can out "Self".

Then you will go to Position, and here is what you are going to do - for "Legislation" - Put the Original Bill. For "Position", click on Opponent!

Then click on the Blue Button, that says "Add Position".

Finally, towards the end - you are going to type in what you wish to provide for the hearing. You have three options - "Oral in Person", "Written Statement Filled" or "Record of Appearance Only".

I would choose the Record of Appearance Only - as it records your position without having to do anything additional!

They also say it is best to do the Witness Slip an Hour before the meeting starts. In this case, since the meeting is being meet at 2:30 PM CST - you would submit it at 1:30 PM CST (If you have not already).

However, getting your voice out there is what truly matters - so if you think you might forget or have something else going on - FILL IT OUT NOW!!!
