I reckon I got pretty close on my Fafnir Rann conversion, what do you guys think?

2,000 points of the Imperial Fists First Assault Cadre done and dusted! I’ll be adding to this force to bring it up to 2.500 but I am keen to get a game in with these guys!

Had a weekend away so not much hobbying done but managed to make a start on the basing for the First Assault Cadre led by Fafnir Rann

Early WIP of the last 3 models of the current force (in fact the champion and Chaplain are extras for when I jump up in points) I saw @7th_legion_captain on Instagrams force and was taken with the red shields so that’s what Rann will be carrying to help him stand out

Painted the Deredeo Dreadnought and the apothecary earlier but I hate the Apoth so no photos of that. Instead have the three Contemptors I smashed out this evening! My paint queue for this army now consists of a Legion Champion, Chaplain and Rann!

Rapier carriers all but done, the tracks will get dirtied up when I get to the basing. Now to the Dreads!

20 Breachers have been done so on to the 10 Warders!

First squad of Breachers just about done (basing will happen en masse next week).

Ugh Breachers, love the concept, love the final look but man are they are a pain to assemble, knocking them over first so I can paint the more interesting things!

I am avoiding building more Breachers for my Fists so here are two more Dreads and a Chaplain. As I will be using these guys in a Badab setting I made him a bit more barbarous than the usual consul of 30k

My take on the man himself Fafnir Rann! A combination of Kharn, Warder and MkIV weapon sets, with Pop Goes the Monkey Shoulder icon

About to drop in on the local 30k scene with my taken on the First Assault Cadre led by Fafnir Rann.

Going strictly by the lore I am sure most of this force would have adopted a more traditional yellow scheme, however I am also hoping to use the models in 40k as Executioners.

With the dual purpose in mind I am looking at using the pre heresy Battle of Roma era scheme as I think it does both jobs well enough. My breachers will have the twin axes of Rann across their shields while Warders, Terminators and characters will have more traditional Fist icon shields.

I am also debating replacing the Legion icon on the pad with Ranns heraldry, in a similar way to the Black Templar’s Cross donating veterans. And maybe, maybe, getting enough done in time for Armies on Parade, we shall see how I go!

If GW did updates of all the Rogue Trader/2e models to be of this quality and in this retro style I would quickly go broke! Love the old skool styling right down to the goblin green base!
