ohh similar to that ant alien species ask, what if a worker drone of a species never thought he'd lay any eggs. drones don't lay eggs, their reproductive systems are sterile, he was never going to. and that was fine.
he'd seen the layers in his colony before, in rare moments where his work brought him to their quarters, constantly big and round and laying eggs every day. broods took three days to incubate, but most layers carried many at a time, birthing multiple broods a day. most of the layers were so big they couldn't do much else but lounge and get bred by the studs even further.
since those rare moments he's seen the layers, there's been a pit of confusing feeling in his stomach a drone should never feel. longing, yet horror and disgust at a life like that. to have a purpose so much greater than being just a drone, yet the realities of a role like that...
all his life was normal and structured, as it should be for an average drone. he worked, followed routines, supported the hive. until, one late night, an errant stud found him in the tunnels. alone.
the stud, so much stronger and more powerful than the little drone, pinned him down and forced his sharp, large cock up the drone's tight, vestigial reproductive track. the stuf filled the sterile drone with his sticky, thick breeding fluid, then immediately died as studs do after they've accomplished their purpose.
horrified, the drone had to hide the stud's body, and tried to clean any evidence of the incident off of himself. however, it wasn't so easy to get rid of the pheromones, signaling to the others he had been bred, an impossibility. yet, it appears that is what had happened.
over the course of his next day's work, the drone boy began growing. quickly. his abdomen quickly expanding with heavy eggs, it became difficult to do his tasks, his uniform stopped fitting very quickly. this, along with the pheromones clouding around him, had the other drones carrying him off to the breeding center to figure out what was going on.
his tummy kept growing and growing, the outlines of eggs becoming visible through his skin as the medicine drones did their tests. yes, he was pregnant with a brood of eggs, clearly, yet as he was just a drone, the medics had no idea what to expect.
drones aren't built the same as layers. for one, they're barely half their size. this drone was especially small and slight for his designation, not full figured with wide egg-bearing hips as layers were. for two, their reproductive tracks are meant to be sterile and function less, how this drone was growing eggs was a complete mystery for the medics, and as such, there was nothing to do but wait to see what happened.
oh how the drone wished they could do something other than just watch and take notes. over the next few days, his stomach just got larger and larger, the body stretching and screaming against a burden it never was built to support. he couldn't stand, his skin was stretched so thin it throbbed, bones ached and creaked apart, the pain immense and unimaginable. broods of eggs could be troublesome for large layers to carry, but a little drone like him? oh, poor drone... the medics assumed the worst.
finally, after the three days, something shifted down and low into his canal, his "birth" canal, the tight little useless hole that malfunctioning stud had forced himself into. a pop, fluid gushed out, but instead of the eggs sliding right out like they would for the layers, an egg was stuck firmly between the drone's boxy, narrow hips. there it would stay far too long, as the drone was attacked over and over by contractions, yet clueless on what to do. the medics instructed him to push, as they would when a layer was eggbound with a particularly large brood, but nothing had been as challenging as this drone's predicament.
his muscles overtaxed and pulled to their limits by the sheer mass of his brood, there was little force the drone could push down on the eggs with. yet, with all his might, he tried, for it was the only thing he could do. agonizingly, over countless hours, each stubborn egg was pushed through his vestigial reproductive canal.
finally, at the end of it, the drone lay spent and battered, tended to by the medics. after all that great effort, he was informed his brood would not be sent to the nursery to be cared for. not a single egg was viable, none had germinated an embryo inside. they were correct: drones were sterile. the drone was heartbroken, but there was worse news to come.
studs leave more of themselves behind than necessary for one brood, it was unknown how long after their deposit their seed sticks around. as he lay in the medic bay, the drone felt his abused and unhealed body already begin to swell with the next brood...
AA THIS IS SO SO GOOOODDD OMGGG I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THISSSS <3
A drone that was never meant to breed, his body simply not built to carry eggs but being forced to anyways. His poor little belly nearly splits from the pressure of such a huge clutch, growing more and more painful every day as he continues to swell, he gets so big he almost bursts and even his birth canal is barely functional so when he goes into labor, each egg nearly tears his body apart. Then as soon as he's finished giving birth to his clutch, his tummy is already pumping out another one, this time even bigger.... Who knows how many more clutches this poor drone will be forced to carry
