Tris Prior? More like Tris Bi-or!!!
What if i....posted a fic that contained the biggest spoiler for possible for the Amendment series even though the thing isn't supposed to be revealed until book 2? What then?
Timeline of my rewrite's book covers from 2014 to 2024. I can't believe I've been at this for so long. It's as incredible as it is embarrassing, I think
In 2019 @saltwaffle and I bonded over our mutual ire toward the franchise that turned into us rewriting the series at the same point in time (you can read theirs, Transcendent, here and do because it's my favorite).
Later on, we decided to combine our universes into an even larger beast. Neither of us have really wanted to publish anything we wrote for the crossover, but I did do some amount of art for it over the years.
This was our squad of main characters: Tris Prior (revamped), Phoebe Albright (protag of Transcendent), Sajida Touma (major character in Transcendent), Mimi Malachite (protag of Amalgam), and Julius Malachite (a crossover exclusive). I still have a lot of love for these kids. Maybe one day we'll even do something with them lol
More art for Amalgam. This time, Mimi's family members! Her mother, Carolina Malachite; her father, Jonah Captor-Malachite; her eldest brother, Perseus "Percy" Malachite; eldest sister, Minerva Malachite, and the middle children, the twins, Natasha and Nikolai Malachite.
All of them are wildly successful, rich, powerful, and maybe just a little shady...
It's been forever since I posted on this blog, but I'm itching to get back into my rewrite again, so I thought I'd post some portraits I did of my main character, Mimi Ophelia Malachite!
The first two drawings are wicked old (2021 and 2019 respectively) with the following ones being slightly more recent after I was seized with love for my girl again in 2024.
The daughter of a prominent Erudite politician who transfers to Dauntless against the wishes of her family after receiving a strange test result.
Her story, Amalgam, can be read here
After so many years, I think I consider this - draft 4 of the cover and draft who-even-knows of the novel - to be the final version of my Divergent rewrite!! I spent a while reworking things after uploading chapter 25, so if you're an old fan, I highly recommend going through it all again. This is the first book of the series, which takes place at the same time as Aspirant, but follows the Dauntless kids.
Read it on AO3
Summary:
Mimette Malachite has the world at her feet in Erudite and always has. But it's not enough, and she's afraid that it may never be enough. If she stays, she can never be free of the shadow of her family. If she leaves, she may never find her way back home. Beatrice Prior knows deep down that Abnegation isn't right for her. She fears she is not selfless enough. When both girls' test results come back strange, they know that something has to change. They know that the whole world is changing. Something lurks just beyond the light; they just need to have the courage to find it.
Hey, guess what guys, I'm not dead!
I've decided that it's finally time to post my Erudite initiation story! I was going to wait until after Amalgam is done, but that feels so far away and I simply love Caleb Prior and my other Erudite kids to pieces.
All the same, please heed the tags on the fic. This one gets kind of dark in later chapters.
Summary:
Knowledge is a costly thing. Erudite is everything anyone could ever dream of. At least, that’s what its young initiates desperately want to believe. It’s the best thing to ever happen to them. It’s the worst thing to ever happen to them. It is what they love most in the world and what they fear more than anything. It is where ambitions come true and those with enough will to climb are reborn as something perfect. It is blindingly beautiful. Caleb Prior is out of his depth and he knows this, maybe only this. He cast his blood into the water and now it is all he can do not to drown. Elizabeth Reynolds finally has what she’s always wanted. She’s finally becoming the person she’s always been supposed to be, that is, if she keeps her ship steady. On the other side of this ocean is paradise, membership, perfection. But the sky grows dark, the waves fight back every moment, the wind howls in their ears. Let only the strongest survive.
Something something erasing who he was before something getting mad when people deadname him
ISO DIVERGENT FAN FICTION
DOES ANYONE WRITE DIVERGENT FAN FICTION ANYMORE? I'M STRESSING AND NEED COMFORT IN OLD COPING METHODS.
Here are my personal favorites:
Dependant (rewrite containing some Dauntless ocs, heavy focus on found family)
Transcendent (rewrite where Tris goes to Candor, focuses on the politics of the world)
Prove It (Eric/Tris centric rewrite that develops Dauntless a lot)
Lead Me To The Garden (great backstory for a lesbian Jeanine)
And this is my fic: Amalgam (rewrite containing an oc who goes to Dauntless and becomes besties with Tris and the others, focuses a lot on examining the culture of the factions and also found family)
What do you mean Divergent isn’t about a bunch of autistic and adhd friends
