The beginning…

Brutus was in a lab he built in the grotto, working on a device. It appeared to be some sort of door frame, with mini versions of Midas’ device- which had not yet been revealed, attached to it.

“Test log 79, so far, all trials of the device have failed. My hope is that this trial is the last. If it works, I will create a stable inter-reality gate. Now…let us begin. Powering up device now…”

Brutus flipped a lever, as the device sparked to life, drawing power from various sources.

“I had to draw power from a few other locations, such as the shark and the agency. I decided to draw more power from the agency, due to it’s proximity to the orb. I just hope it doesn’t draw too much power- or if anyone figured out I was doing something unusual.”

Lights across the island, mainly in the agency and shark, began to flicker as power was drawn towards Brutus’ device.
