Content Creators AND Consumers,
And i mean every medium to fic writers, analysis creators, artists, live bloggers, WHATEVERβ I wanna just take a moment to acknowledge that your work is doing so much.
It may not feel like it sometimes, if it feels like no ones reading something you spent hours into the night writing, or looking at each detail of an art that has 0 notes/engagement. Trust me, and Iβve been there, that it sucks to feel like your hard work is being lost on deaf ears or blind eyes.
BUT, let me tell you, you are gaining such important personal skills and development that will come to fruition later.
So, I just moved teams at work, now with our communications team. Today I was in a call where I shadowed an editing session for a template going out to our entire company, complete with paragraphs, graphics, hyperlinksβ the works. and mind you, I work for a big american, household name, brand.
Listening in and hearing their call outs on someoneβs draft, I realized how much knowledge Iβve gained from every analysis post iβve written, each fic iβve both wrote AND read, each art I do. They were pointing out things like how different wording brings different connotations, condensing your work to ensure it has the same message but without a bunch of fluff words, opening with something that will catch your audienceβs attention, etc.
I donβt know if this is also because I come from a background in marketing, but I genuinely feel these are things content creators AND consumers are unconsciously and consciouslyΒ learning as we produce, and even consume, the crap we do on here or other outlets
And as I look back on my original post here, griping about how I felt I canβt professionally tell of my credibility online, I realized something. I never had to say, or give a source to, the fact I do this rather laughable (imho) blogging on here to justify my skills. That will come out as you step into opportunities and give your best, as we all have on these works about these dumb anime girls. Give yourself so much credit that you so rightfully deserve
