Okay, so here’s what I got so far as finding squid-beatz’s obituary goes:

Squid-beatz’s time zone is currently set at US Central time--

US Central is, according to Google/Wikipedia, comprised of the following states: 

Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, Iowa, Lousiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Wisconsin.

It includes parts of other states, but for now, we’ll focus on states that are located entirely in the time zone.  What are the most popular newspapers in each state (according to Google)?...

Alabama: Montgomery Advertiser, Daily Sentinel, and Gulf Coast Newspaper

Arkansas: Arkansas Democrat Gazette Inc., Northwest Arkansas Times, Nashville Leader

Illinois: Daily Herald, State Journal-Register, Illinois Times

Iowa: Iowa Newspaper Association (???), Des Moines Register, Iowa City Press Citizen

Louisiana: Advocate, Louisiana State Newspapers Inc., Weekly Press

Minnesota: Star Tribune, Minnesota Newspaper Association (???), Sun Current Newspapers

Missouri: Columbia Daily Tribune, Missouri Press, Southeast Missourian

Mississippi: Clarion-Ledger, Commercial Dispatch, Magnolia Gazette

Oklahoma: The Oklahoman, Greater Tulsa Reporter Newspapers, Paper (???)

Wisconsin: Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Inc., Wisconsin State Journal, Daily Tribune

Those up there are the three most popular newspapers in each state that’s in US Central time (not including states that are only partially in the US Central time jurisdiction), and I’ll reiterate, according to Google.

We also know, if squid-beatz blog is anything to go by, that squid-beatz’s name is “Estée”.  We also know she is a minor. [ X ]

A “minor” qualifies as below 18 in general law, but with alcohol the law considers minors to also qualify as those under the age of 21, which is the drinking age upheld nation-wide. [ you don’t need me to link Wikipedia, do you?]

We also know that squid-beatz used to be employed. Generally speaking the age of employment is set at 14 in the US for non-agricultural work. [ X ]

Safe to say that squid-beatz is between the ages of 14-21, I’m willing to bet around 18 or 19 though.  

So, as far as the obituary goes, we are looking for a female by the name of Estée between the ages of 14-21 (most likely 18 or 19) that passed away August 27th/28th, with the cause of death being suicide.  It’s nothing that people probably didn’t already know, but at least the info is compiled in one spot and people have an idea on what to look for in the obituary.

I’m going to keep looking, and see what else I can find.  Please feel free to add onto this post and/or do research on your own.

EDIT: 

Yes, I know, and edit already.  Squid-beatz had a credit card that was hacked as part of the attack from the doxxer. [ X ] After looking up how old you have to be to apply for a credit card, it’s almost certain that squid-beatz is 18 years old.  Maybe 19 or 20, since that’s technically “minor” territory too, but for all purposes let’s just put it at 18 for now.

I’ve been following the Markiplier threads on Gossip Guru regarding the events these past few days, and despite things being “resolved” I feel like... it isn’t.  There’s still something wrong.  

One big thing is that personally, even though I reblogged the post that supposedly debunked Squid’s suicide claim, I’m still not entirely sure it’s a hoax.  It’s full of good points, I think, but it’s no substitute for cold hard proof.

I’m reluctant to tag this in the markiplier tag, because I don’t want to dredge up things if I’m wrong.  For now, I’ll keep it contained to this blog and MAYBE the squid-beatz tag.  But I need to do some poking around.  If I can find an obituary then maybe... maybe that can fix the one weird thing that still feels wrong.

Heya everyone! I’m a new safe space/archiving blog for the Markiplier community. That means that anyone can voice any kind of opinions of anything here regarding the community or events anonymously.

Moving Forward

One of the most important things in moving forward is step 3 in my 3 step program (available for 14 payments o 19.25). FORGIVE.

This includes a lot of things but it definitely involves being kind and forgiving each other (and yourselves) for anything you think may have led to an uproar in the once tranquil world of markitopia. Even if you THINK you did something or you KNOW someone that caused some problems here or there, the best thing to do is to acknowledge that things went somewhere sour and then drop it completely right then and there. Going, “I CAN’T BELIEVE WHAT’S HAPPENED EVERYTHING USED TO BE SO GOOD n STUFF” does nothing to help. Things move forward one day at a time and quite frankly I don’t have the time nor the patience to dwell on the past. 

You guys care so much that you’re actually much harder on yourselves than anyone else would be. You expect a lot from each other and that’s actually a really good thing but that can also bog you down if things aren’t going quite right all the time. So just breathe and forget what’s happened, it’s time to move forward. It’s also time to spam the markiplier tag with puppies. GET TO IT!!

Expanding

First off, you’re damn right I’m putting on the dad pants. It’s been too long that I’ve been absent at the forefront of this community in a lot of respects. I know that. I failed at that. But it’s time to put on our big boy/girl shoes and lay down some ground rules:

1. Spread joy.

2. Help others.

3. Forgive.

That’s pretty much it. If you’re not someone who can adhere to those simple rules then quite frankly you’ll just have to deal with it. Pointing fingers does nothing. Squabbling does nothing. I’m gonna make videos to entertain you and we’re gonna change the whole fricken world whether you like it or not. Get ready for some extreme goodwill coming your way! And if you read this far flood the markiplier tag with kittens. Or else…

ENOUGH

I have had enough. For the first time in my years online I am dissapointed of what has become of this community. I can’t believe that you’ve allowed yourself to be torn apart by the scheming rumors of a few. I can’t believe that you’d ignore the greater cause of why we are here for your own personal satisfaction. I can’t believe that you’d think that I am worth squabbling over.

If you think that this community is about any one individual’s standing over anyone else, including myself, then you are in the wrong place. If you have ever belittled, threatened, insulted, or berated anyone else in the community FOR ANY REASON then you are in the wrong. I don’t even care if you think I’m missing the point of why you’re waging your own personal war. IT ENDS TONIGHT. And more to the point let me ask you one question that you really need to reflect on: Are you making the world a better place? If you want to squabble and bicker about gossip and problems, take it somewhere else. Here. Right here. We build each other up. We never bring each other down. We NEVER threaten each other. We never attack those whose opinions may differ from our own. In this community we hold ourselves to a higher standard to show an EXAMPLE of what a true community should be to the rest of the world. I will not stand for this pointless arguing. I WILL NOT STAND FOR IT. 

And if you think for even one second that I’ll allow this to continue then you are dead wrong. I may want to make the world smile but you can be DAMN sure that I’ll protect what this community represents with my life. We are better than this. We are stronger than this. It’s time to change. And it starts tonight.

Is Squidbeatz lying?

Now, as we all have heard, there has been something tragic going on in the fandom. Squidbeatz / Squid has chosen to end her life because of all the bullying. Now, there definitely has been a lot of skepticism towards the validity of this. After all, there are several holes and poor connections that make this story seem incredibly off. However, xypt and I have spent the entire night going through everything to make sure we had our sources and thoughts sorted to make our statement here. I’m serious. We’ve been doing this for the last 6 hours.

We definitely believe that this entire story has been made up.

In light of recent events, I’m starting an archiving/safe space blog for the Markiplier fandom.  I’m also using this blog as a means to anonymously express my own opinion regarded the events that happened yesterday, August 27th, and everything related to it, because I feel as a community we really do need to talk about it.  

Since the Markiplier tag has already blown up with it, I’m going to curb my posts somewhat. All mention of what happened yesterday will under a “read more” cut, and I’m not sure whether I’ll tag the actual posts, but if I do I’ll tag it clearly so people can block the content if they wish. 

Regardless, I will tag this, just to let people know that this blog exists and that I’m here for anyone and anything, whatever their opinion or identity.

The fandom could really use a rock/safe space right now.
