The American film director, producer, screenwriter and New York’s best-selling novelist-Holly Goldberg Sloan appeared at the SIBF 2016, Book Forum on Day 6. The panel discussion titled ‘’Cinemas- Books to Screen’’ was a tremendous platform for her to express her view on the adaptation of writings onto a screen as a screenwriter and novelist. She also spoke of her latest novel ‘Apple Blossom the Possum’ which was published in 2015 by Dial (Penguin Random House) and won the Amazon Best Book of the Month! with interviewer Sakeena Mushtaq (Third year Print student @manipal dubai).

The panel discussions are drawn from the theme ‘Behind the Scenes’, where industry leaders across business domains share their experience from which students can draw inspiration.
The first set of panel sessions explored the leadership perspective. Robin is the founder of Kranti School (‘Revolution’ in Hindi) empowers marginalised girls in Mumbai’s red light district to become agents of social change. The school is truly diverse with different ages, literacy levels, languages, ethnicities, religions, castes and abilities. With Robin’s help, the Krantikaries develop into peer teachers and community leaders.
