Hello everyone! As we’re all aware, the tumblr guidelines update has left this site very tumultuous, and unfortunately has made communication about this exchange a bit confusing. In addition to that, I’ve been inordinately busy, but I should have initiated solutions earlier, and for that I apologize! Also for some reason the twitter account I created to replace this blog (or supplement) was suspended, so I’ve created a new one, where I will be reiterating this message.
Because of confusion and tumblr’s instability, I will be extending the deadline for this exchange through the end of January. So, if you have not completed your art, please be ready to submit your gift by January 31st!

Thanks for everyone who participated in the poll! I’ll definitely be hosting another event starting in November, so keep an eye out :) Just going to work on streamlining the submission process to avoid prior issues, and then a participation form will be thrown up in the coming days!
Also, a few people mentioned interest in including writers in the exchanges. While that will not occur in this upcoming exchange, that’s something I’d like to consider for the future! It will just be a matter of figuring out how to go about it in a way where everyone is getting something they want. Stay tuned!

When you match people for the exchange I assume you put it through a randomizer. Do you ever take art skill into consideration, though? Not to be offensive to anyone
Yepp, a randomizer is used to assign people to their recipients! In the past, some limited intervention has been done in specific cases (including having people specifically request not to be paired with a certain individual) to try and keep things fair, but no formal skill-based sorting has been done thus far. If it seems people prefer to have things sorted into skill levels, I’ll do my best to do so in as respectful and considerate a method as possible!
I'm curious, why make an exchange invite only?
At this point I’m just gauging what peoples’ individual preferences are, there were no larger motivations there! I’ve just seen other exchanges (specifically secret santa type exchanges) that are invite only, so I figured I’d present it as an option just in case :)
I imagine it would help add some accountability and hopefully reduce the risk that people don’t complete their gift on time/at all. But its not a thing I’m gunning for by any means, just offering to people.

Summer Exchange
Sorry for the slight chaos that was the summer exchange! We will be re-evaluating our submission process for gifts in the future, to avoid similar issues recurring. The submission tool on tumblr is so unreliable, so apologies to those that I contacted unnecessarily!
That said, all submissions are in and have been posted! Feel free to upload your artwork or deliver it to your recipient!
If anyone has ideas for better ways to upload the artwork to our blog, let us know. Posting art in batches is less clutter than submitting each piece individually, however as someone pointed out, captions for credits can’t be viewed on mobile. So if anyone has a better idea, let us know!
Summer time fun! You are welcome to take inspiration from the sunny, bright, and at times unbearably hot season of summer; or maybe your longing for cooler weather will take you to the opposite extreme. Be creative and enjoy!

Apologies on Delay!
Sorry for the delay on getting the Micro Exchange gifts posted. I’ve been super busy and, unfortunately, cannot always make this exchange my priority. In the future, I will do my best to schedule the deadlines around my own schedule, rather than just focusing on duration. Each exchange is a learning experience, so thank you for your patience! You may now post your gifts to your blogs/send to your recipient if you’d like!
That said, please make sure you always read the rules and entry form thoroughly! We’ve been very lax in previous exchanges, with people submitting their entries late, filling out the entry form incorrectly or insufficiently, providing incomplete OC references, etc. This inevitably creates more work for us, so we’ll be a bit stricter in the future.
Are we allowed to give our half to our recipient now or should we wait?

Micro Exchange: Flower Crowns Update
Quick update for those of you who participated in the micro exchange! We’re rounding up all the entries and contacting those participants we haven’t heard from/who haven’t submitted their gifts on time. Once we’ve established who has/hasn’t completed a gift, we will be distributing all submitted pieces to their recipients and to the blog for everyone to admire. We have received your submitted piece if you haven’t heard from us, so don’t fret!
There is one person we’re waiting to hear from. If you ended up giving a gift to someone who didn’t complete their piece, its up to you whether or not you want to submit it to your gallery, as we will not be delivering the gift to those individuals.
Introducing our first Micro Exchange: Flower Crowns! This is a shorter, one-month exchange, where you will follow a specific theme. You are only obligated to draw a colored bust (navel-and-up) of the pre-existing OC of your recipient! The theme is Flower Crowns, meaning you should draw the character wearing one in some fashion, and artistic creativity is encouraged!
