Can you imagine how happy Stiles would be the first time Derek gives him a compliment or praises him for his efforts for something he’s done for the pack?

Like Derek pulls him aside after a pack mission and squeezes his shoulder and says “good job”

And Stiles just kinda floats for three days because he’s worked so hard to get a response like that, not just from Derek but from anyone. When does anyone ever really tell him good job? And it feels extra special coming from Derek somehow. He didn’t say anything to Stiles after the pool, or when Stiles used his spark to trap the kanima OR when Stiles made a plan to break into a freaking bank vault. It feels like they’ve reached a milestone in this…friendship? Supernatural crime fighting duo-ship? Anyhoo, Stiles is really happy about it.

And now he can’t stop thinking about Derek touching his shoulder and telling him good job. And Derek touching his shoulder. And Derek telling him good job. And Derek touching him. And telling him good job–

“Good job, Stiles.”

Stiles blinks the water out of his eyes. He’s in the shower, on his knees, and Derek’s massive form is above him, dripping water onto his face and guiding his head with a hand in his hair, making him gag and drool and fuck, that’s so hot. He looks up and sees Derek leaning forward on the shower wall, grinning down at him.

“You look so pretty on your knees, Stiles,” he purrs, using his tight grip to tilt Stiles’ head back. “Doing such a good job for me.” Stiles whimpers and Derek tilts his head to the sound and his eyes flash red and his smile turns sinful. “Ready?”

Stiles swallows and scrambles to get a grip on Derek’s strong thighs as he’s bracketed against the wall, and Derek’s hand tightens in his hair and–

He startles awake. It still dark out, and he’s sweaty and dazed and his boxers feel gross and–oh my god, this has gone absolutely too far.

He’s able to stop thinking about it without blushing after a couple of days and it’s not so awkward to be around Derek as he thought it would be. So what if he had a mind blowingly hot as hell sex dream about him? He can’t go through life being embarrassed about things like that. Like, who hasn’t Stiles had a sex dream about? Come on now. He got a compliment from Derek AND he got something for the spank bank as well. So really, things are A-okay, fantastic even. Splendid.

That is until there’s a pack meeting and Stiles comes up with a totally awesome plan that blows everyone away, and Derek says good job to him again and Stiles nearly comes in his pants.

Hi! I’d like to start by saying I’m a huge fan of your work. I think I’ve spent the last two months compulsively reading everything you’ve written, and now that I’ve finally finished it all, I honestly don’t know what to do with my life. I'm not into other pairings either, so my recs are mostly safe for you! I can't stomach the thought of sterek with someone else, so I don't read those fics. To answer your question, I don't really know 😭💖 Firstly, idk how much you're familiar with the fandom so maybe this will be old news.

I'd say check out standinginanicedress archive (personal faves are Cut to the Bone, Helen of Troy, Stars and Their Meanings, Tax Evasion series (one, two, three)) , I've taken a lot of inspo from their works, and they write loooooong fics with dynamics kind of similar to mine? Check out Dexterous_Sinistrous (if I were to list my fave works of this author I'd write down like their entire fic history), DiscontentedWinter, LadyDrace, my absolute beloved NARKOTIKA, exclamation, kaistrex (weishen), DarkAthena (seraphim_grace) (esp their A/B/O bodice rippers series which is a fantastic collection of long wonderful historical angsty sterek stories), isthatbloodonhisshirt (wasterella) (obviously). I can't 100% say that Renmackree has dynamics similar to mine, but her works are the most beautifully written fics I've ever read. Hung The Moon by BurnItAllClean (nrnyx) is something I'll never forget, that fic lives rent free in my head.

I'M NOT SAYING ALL THOSE AMAZING AUTHORS WRITE LIKE I DO, they write a thousand times better dynamics, but those are like my Pushkins and Dostoevskys of sterek fanfiction. I admire them greatly and wouldn't be here without them. They ran so I could crawl like a drooling baby. If that says anything to you, then check them out.
