Accepting this lifetime is about to come to an end
Tired, we watched our Domain fall under their blades
The night of Congruence brings the sins of those who crossed,
We turned to each other, knowing it was time to say goodbye
“I’m sorry, dear. I promise to see you in the next.”
“We shall start all over, for that I shall Believe.”
“Worry not, I’m your other half, even if I must go
Trust that she and I will find our way back to you."
You’re the lovely monster, and I was the slave going unseen
With our fates trapped in vain, we are shared halves of misery
If it means I can serve you, just as you saved me
I will turn on these Plains, be the blood that they seek
Once upon a time, in the ruins forgotten to this day,
Was a harvest kingdom protected time and time again
But the last one wiped them out and now nature has reclaimed
Hopefully, she sleeps, and not waiting for us to wake.
And if time goes on, this Peasantless Plains
With no one left to start praying for you
“Remain right here, I will shelter you from the cold.”
To see that crimson smile, I will sing anything.
You’re the goddess, and I’m your follower going unseen
Once again split by fate, a last kiss between you and me
If it means I can find you, in another lifetime to be
I will protect this Domain as we all fall to sleep.
You’re the Ruler, and I’m your Bearer, now forever be
Once again split by fate, I will consume your misery
When she’s reborn once again, and we get another try
Then of course, on that day, I will laugh, sitting by your side.
🌟 Chapter Two for the True Believer is a song referencing The Congruence, mainly from the Flagbearer's POV. I wrote it in December, and finally recorded my own voice and added effects based on who's singing. It's 2 minutes and 50 seconds in total.
Who wants to hear the song?
I do

🌟 I also don't know when TR's design will be done, since I keep on delaying it.
She was destined for royalty, but instead, she ranaway. Into the forgotten ruins where a kingdom sleeps.
The Believer steps inside The Forgotten Ruins. Her hands tracing the walls where intricate carvings of a lost history were told.
Characters and symbols that no one can read anymore, except her.
Memories of past lives leading up to this moment. It always takes her a while to remember, but she's here now.
Adu vah Riche, the True Kingdom.
She latches onto a memory. Her Baroness standing in front of a window, looking back at her. Crimson hair swaying in the fiery wind, uttering the words, "What is a god without her people?"
The last life was indeed one of the worst. They watched the Peasants die out in a Congruence. The last thing The Believer remembers was her Ruler's lamenting face watching her breathe her last.
She winces slightly after pricking her hand on one of the tiny thorns growing on the walls. A small amount of blood pours out. She immediately sucks it off, hoping that none of those creatures has caught a whiff.
For four days she ran through the Eternal Plains, doing everything she could for those things to lose track of her. It's such a shame how Safe Passages are only granted by rulers. She's on her own for now.
She finds her way inside the royal chamber, the place she last saw them happy.
The Flagbearer went down first. Making sure he protected the Domain that his Ruler so adorned, up to the very end. The Believer remembers watching the Baron's wrath upon losing her other half.
It was a form she had always hated, but The Believer couldn't help but admire the Crimson shadows touching his cold cheeks as she kissed him goodbye. "I promise, we'll meet again," she whispers through a song.
They thought they were prepared. They should have been. But none of the Peasants were actual fighters. The Ones who Crossed were vile and ruthless, gutting down everything and everyone in their path.
"I wonder what she did right after?" The Believer asks herself.
She hated the memory of watching her wail; her Ruler begging for her to promise they'd see each other again.
"I will always be your Believer. I will be your purpose to start all over again."
The sun is starting to set, and the abundance of shadows only makes them bolder. "I need to either hurry up or come back tomorrow."
She chose the former.
Screeching. "It's winged ones this time, a whole flock."
She immediately sets up a water barrier around the chamber. "This should keep them out for a bit."
She then walked to the middle of the room and clasped her hands together- a prayer for a new beginning.
The True Ruler never liked the idea of making people pray for her. "It makes me feel far more important than I really am."
So, around two lifetimes ago, The Flagbearer came up with the idea of making the Peasants kneel for her Safe Passage. "It's just like praying for your blessing. No harm with it, yes?", he would always say.
He always had that confident smile making her feel safe. His words always meant promises for better days, and he has done so without falter.
The moment the protections broke was the moment they knew this was that lifetime's end.
He tried running to her arms.
She tried making her smile.
She could only kiss both of them goodbye, as she proceeded to destroy everything.
"None shall be left, for everything has died out."
Thus, she has sealed herself, in her little white room.
Thoughts. "Who is thinking right now?" she asks herself. She then realizes that she's sitting upright on her bed. Light coming from a horizonless window.
"Hmm… It appears that I am waking up again."
She lets out a sigh and proceeds to bury her face between her arms and knees. For her, it had all happened yesterday. She wails again, inside her little white room where no one is here to hear.
"I am so alone."
Crimson shadows swirl around her, and she hates how ugly she looks.
She feels a hug from her right side, and then a soft chuckle. "Good morning, beautiful." He plants a gentle kiss on her head.
The crimson shadows came to a halt, and slowly made their way back to her.
"You're late." she scoffs.
He hugs her tighter. "It's only a matter of time… do you think we should come get her?"
Evening has now come. It took a while, but the winged ones eventually found the barrier. They lurk around the chamber, enticed by the Being who prays within. The Believer sings a song of promise and praises, patiently waiting for them to wake up.
Lightheaded, she lays on the floor feeling drained. "It appears that those things found a way to consume the barrier's energy."
Her eyes move towards the ceiling as her mind drifts away again.
A field. It was the season of harvest and the Peasants were showing off their bounties. The True Ruler inspects all of them with proud glee in her eyes. Even though they couldn't consume all of it, they were given crates of fruits so high it blocked the light.
Not really. The Believer is just shorter than most people. She doesn't mind at all, because she likes the way she fits inside her True Ruler's arms.
This time though…
She snaps back to reality, realizing her barrier has finally run out. The flock has started to surround and attack, but she has run out of energy to effectively defend herself. Hitting them one by one is not enough.
Scratches and bites, here and there. But it doesn't matter, she was-
"Well, aren't you a brave one?" The Believer turns around and immediately jumps into her Ruler's arms. Immediately crying and saying sorry over and over again.
She was always the small Believer, protected by her Crimson shadows.
"Good to see ya." The Flagbearer lets out a small chuckle as green light bathes the whole chamber. The Believer felt warmth for the first time in ages. She was home.
