okay but what if a few months after Dick got adopted by Bruce he was in school and the teacher made him write something on the board like teachers do and everything was fine until he got back to his desk and realized some of the calk had rubbed off on his hand

because the last time he had calk on his hands was on the trapeze the night his parents died

mmm dick has a terrible episode.

bruce gets called into the office because they have dick in there. they tell him he started screaming, tripped as he started backing up, and ended up pushed back against the wall as he cried out.

bruce and his never changing expression of nothing less than stoicism take it all in what’s apparently stride and he says nothing to dick as he takes the boy back to the car where alfred is waiting. dick assumes he’s in trouble.

in the car bruce’s demeanor changes entirely. his eyes soften and he watches dick’s pained expression before he quietly asks, “were they visibly hurt?”

dick makes a sound of pain and shakes his head, “not this time. they looked like they were asleep.”

and bruce doesn’t say any more. he leans forward and runs a hand through dick’s sweaty hair and dick moves towards bruce. bruce wraps an arm around his son’s side and dick sniffles against bruce’s chest.

I finally reached 2000 followers!!!

This is AMAZING everyone. Really, it is. When I started this blog it was purely for fun and I didn’t think people would really like my writing but now I AM SHOCKED that I have gained so many followers. Really, you all are the best and I cannot be more grateful to have all of you.
