We've all been wronged at some point in our lives. But, revenge is never the answer. Yes, that's our human nature to try to get even. It's our automatic response. It's just not the correct response. It will not turn back the clock and stop what happened from happening. It won't erase it from your mind. And it will not make your feel better. We are called to turn the other cheek. Because...that's what makes a good witness. That's being like Jesus. Yes, that's hard. But being like Jesus, is usually hard, and worth it. We, as Christians are called to the great commission. To make disciples. No one ever came to Jesus because of your revengeful response to their actions. Teach love, especially when it's hard, and especially when it's in response to someone you already claim to love. People are watching. All potential future believers. Pray before you respond. Last night I rode the quadrunner down into the backyard, there were a million little yellow flowers. I took a picture but when I look at the picture I see more trees and weeds than flowers. Sometimes there are situations in our lives like that. We pray and we pray and we pray for God to fix them. But what He really wants is for us to see it through his eyes. For us to see what he's trying to do through that situation. For us to see the flowers He's sending us through all the mess. He sees the bigger picture. Today is my 28th birthday. I love that it's on Good Friday. 28 years ago I gave my life to the Lord. Salvation seems like an ending at the time. It's really the beginning of life. A journey. And amazing eternal journey. The securing of your eternity in Heaven. Because we all spend eternity somewhere. I secured mine when I gave the key to my heart to Jesus 28 years ago, and took hold of His hand. He is the key that unlocks Heaven. Through ups and downs, twists and turns. He has never left me, even though I've failed Him. There is a great joy found in living a life knowing where your next home is when you leave this world. There are no words to express that freedom. And you will leave this world one day. And it might be suddenly. It might be today. If you haven't made that choice, then you have made the wrong choice. I suggest you think it over. Then pray it over. I can honestly say, I have not regretted my choice for a minute. The 2nd worst lies you encounter in life are the ones you tell yourself, the absolute worst lies are the ones the devil whispers in your ear. Making them sound like they are in your own voice makes them much more believable. He will tell you you aren't worth anything. You aren't good enough, you've messed up too bad. You've gone too far. You are too fat or too skinny. Or he will tell you, you have more time. (Pray to recognize his voice...) But John 3:16 says God so loved the world...that includes you. It doesn't specify anything. God thought you were worth it. And he still does. No matter what you've done or what you look like. He still loves you right where and like you are...so come home...because... what if you don't have more time? We question any pain in our lives. No one likes it. But if the lame man in Acts 3 had never been born lame, and never been healed, many people would not have been saved. What if he had reacted differently? Kept it to himself? Refused healing? Denied where it came from? Several thousand must have been saved because of his healing and his response. Acts 4 records the church numbered about five thousand after that day. If each one of those brought just one to Christ...look what he accomplished just by his reaction.
